TL-S Heavy Steering

I've been testing out some 07 and 08 Acura TL Type S' and have noticed that the steering is quite heavy at slow speeds and when I'm parking. I've been looking into purchasing one of these vehicles for awhile now, but I'm now having second thoughts. I have chronic pain in my right wrist so I'm not sure if the heavy steering is gonna work for me. It sucks because this is my dream car! Everything else about the TL-S is perfect! So I wanted to ask you guys is there anything I can do or modify to the car to make the steering lighter?

or you might also be able to change out the rack, or p/s pump to a base one instead too, to get the lighter feeling

light feeling, you should try some domestic cars, especially the suv at times, those can be scary light at times

i actually think the base is kind of heavy too. I dont mind it, but when i park or make a slow u turn people think i'm straining to turn the wheel.

Damn.. I was hoping there would be something I could tweak. It's hard to talk myself out of getting one since I've been waiting so long to get one. I'm also thinking about a 2011 Honda Accord Coupe HFP. I know it isn't nearly as sweet as a TL-S but what do you think of it as an alternative?

you can but it might be a little more expensive then just a simple tweak though

looks like part #15 and 16 are different between the S and base
https://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/...X%20COMPONENTS

so it is possible to lighten up the steering, but as said it's a little more involved then just a simple tweak

you MIGHT also be able to shim the valve, that #15 seals up here
https://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/...nt=P.S.%20PUMP

for just THAT much more assist, BUT to take full advantage of the increased pressure especially at low flow times/idle, you might have to get a ever so slightly bigger pump to be able to flow enough (btw i have thought about hacking that spring to get a little LESS assist...)

you might also be able to get a steering rack and pump from an accord even, for that lighter feeling also

I know eh! I struggle at times to turn the wheels when i would do a 3 point turn lol But i love how it is heavy when i'm going real fast.

The g35 coupe and g37s are the other cars i would love to own.

The Type-S has a heavier feel to the steering wheel for a reason. Its the same reason the early year NSX's don't have power steering. Its so that during spirited driving it easy to control and harder to overturn the wheel.

I personally love the feel of the TLS steering wheel.

When I moved up from my 2G to my 3G Type-S, I thought that the steering wheel was HEAVY!!! At first I didn't like it, but soon I realized how responsive the steering was, and I grew to love it. It reminds me very much of the steering in early Porsche 928s (a friend of mine had one, and I drove it often).

at slow speeds my 06 6mt feels like there isnt any power steering assist.

put that hoe in neutral and give it a few revs. the steering lightens up, and i quickly turn the wheel, then put it into gear and drive.
