Theres a caddy dealership by me that takes CTSs and makes em convertibles...but it has the b-pillar thing the goes across the top (kinda hard to explain)
pic:
So if it's possible with a CTS, it might be possible with a TL...but it'll prolly look goofy (haven't used that word since about 2nd grade...)

If you reinforced the frame under the car, a rag top would be possible, if you had big bucks. Makes more sense to get an NSX. For the price there are many other better convertables, like a corvette, Z4, M3, etc.

If it's done right, then it's sweet. ASC Helios is a gorgeous car.
However, it will cost a buttload of money, and in a high-speed, high-impact accident, the chassis could just ball up. In a car where they can't even offer folding rear seats in order to increase structrual integrity, cutting the top off would officially qualify as the dumbest idea possible.

i assure you, it will be a hell of a lot more expensive than a few thousand. a jeep or some kind of truck or SUV hit a lotus elise at 10 mph in a parking structure..guess how much the damage was..it wasnt 5000..wasnt 10000..wasnt 15000..but 20,000+
here is the link to it.

Those are the ugliest conversions I have ever seen! If you're gonna screw around with the roof, change it to a carbon fiber top roof (with supports I'm sure) just like the new M6. That shyt is off the hook!

Also West Coast Customs, chopped a 300 too a 2 door, and made it a convertable. It was at a Sema show, this last one in LA, I think I still have the magazine in which it came out. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?...........

No, nerver a 300 coupe. WCC made it a 2 door and convertable. Word is Daimler Chrysler is going to release a production convertable sometime soon. It will look similar to the one Pure Adrenaline posted. It will not have a roll bar. It's expected to be around 7 grand more than the sedan, which would bring it to around 45k.

I'm sorry, but that 300 - 2 door conversion is GAY. That material they used looks like something Austin Powers would have in his bed room.
The space where the back seats used to be looks like a jacuzzi.

I don't really like the 300C's to begin with, but the conversion looks pretty good. Although a bit too long and unproportional, WCC making it into a 2 door probally helped the look, it would have looked real ugly had it kept the four doors.
The interior sucks though.

I have suede on the roof of my 911 Turbo. It looks great there.
Ferrari makes it look great too.
That car.... freakin' gay.
I'm glad you feel the need to talk down to me. Did I offend you? That's not your car is it? lol
If you want to talk about Ferraris or other nicer cars, let me know. I'm sure I can educate you.

Issaquah for those that dont know is where all the pro atheletes of washington state live ie Mariners, Sonics and Seahawks, well there and Redmond. But back to the subject, just like just about everyone else said, if you want a convertible you should buy one that was made to be one ! ! !
