It has fog lights. They're just not in the same location as most cars.

Fogs it has...

[Edit]

Ah, aftermarket enhancement...

The only downside potential is that I think those grills do provide ram air to the brakes for cooling...

But I agree, they do look good on the SEMA car.

I wonder if the Maxima and G35 owners b*tch as much as some of the people here about the location of their fogs.

To me it looks like the 2004 Maxima's foglights do not point straight forward, they seem to point "outwards" to the sides because they are mounted on the curve of the front bumper.

Yes we do bitch about it... (G35 & TL owner here)... Except Nissan/Nismo makes foglights that mount on the bottom. It's even a Projector HID . I believe it's offered as an option in the JDM market. We bitch, because it's almost $2000.00 I'd hate to have a rock crack one of those suckers...

i think lower/seperate mounted foglights are out of style....

i didnt like the idea of a single housing for all of the lights at first either---but now i think it's brilliant..

they also work better than any "fog light" iv'e had before

That's to illuminate the lines on the sides of the road so you can see them more easily in fog.

I've seen Max's and G35's that apparently have fogs (or some other kind of auxiliary light) above the bumper in the main light cluster as well. Are those fogs or some other kind of light? When I've seen them on they don't seem bright enough at all to be the high beams.

My wife has an '04 Accord. When we bought it, it didn't have fog lights, we had them installed about a month later, and it made a HUGE difference. I only wish she could experience the HID/fog light combo of my Maxima in her Accord.

I don't know about the Maxima, but on my G35, that is a combo fog light and high-beam. It uses a standed Hi/Low bulb, so it's probably just the shape of the reflector dish that makes it a fog/hi.

I use my fogs to look for deer at dusk (04 TL). They really work great for seeing the sides of the road. I replaced the stock lamps with SilverStars.

A use of the "fogs" not in fog which makes good sense to me - a pet peeve is peeps who drive with their fogs on all the time, contributing to the glare overload one already experiences at night. It ios even worse in rain, where the low and short pattern of fogs makes for a lot of glare from the wet road.

It seems that there is more emphasis on how "cool" the fogs look rather than their efficacy. Not only are there Bambis along the roadsides, but stupid people in dark clothing. Pretty hazardous stuff.

I don't mind people driving with their fogs at all. I only get annoyed when they are improperly aimed. In all honesty, I get "blinded" by people driving with their high-beams on or misaimed headlight, more that I do from people with HIDs or Fogs on...

The standard 2004 maxima has fogs in the headlight, just like the TL. Those lights in the bumper only come on when your turn signal is used. They are there to illuminate the road around corners. I know because I owned one.
