TL hood question...

Just bought an 07 model TL. I opened the hood and then had a hard time closing it. This might be a stupid question but whats the best way to close the hood? I tried slamming it down with "reasonable" force and it still won't lock...then i tried just pushing it down, but it wouldn't lock...so I basically had to slam it down really hard so it'll lock. I just don't want to feel like I'm breaking the hood or something by using excessive force.....

Actually I noticed this the first time I opened the hood too. I was used to my Accord where all I had to do was let it drop from a certain distance and it would lock. I found just like you that I had to basically "throw" the TL's hood down to get it to lock.

I think I would have it checked by your dealer. I just let my hood fall from about a foot above its normal position and it shuts and locks down just fine. I have an 04 model.

You can try adjusting the rubber bumper stops and see if that helps. I think the 07's have 3 of them, just screw them down a little at a time and see if that makes it easier to close but still keeps the hood aligned with the fenders.

The 1 foot high drop works for my 04 also.
