^well that's good. that means you at least have a few brain cells still functioning up there.
every time i jack up a vehicle i check the jack points like 50 times to make sure it's good to go. that would be a HORRIBLE way to go.

Do you guys trust your jack stands when they are "notched" up? I do but I always feel like my shirt or something is going to catch the lever and drop it to it's lowest point. So I always put my jack back on but slightly not touching after I put the car up on jack stands.
I also agree with JTS97Z28 and only like to jack from either the front or the back.

^I understand how it's designed. It's still scary as shit trusting the "notches" instead of the stand in it's entirety.
I've always wanted to make a set of something like this...

Maybe not a shirt but def a kick with a foot...
Also, just google "jack stand lever failure".

i love that loud POP sound the car makes when it rests on the jack stands for the first time and nestles into its sweet spot.

My point is redundancy.

that green truck fella would be making out with the concrete.
almost like a reverse jack in the box.
also note the rock behind the rear tire. that is a must have.

Happy Holidays!
Even after placing jack stands on both sides I also place two more objects at the side skirts such as old wheels or large wood blocks. If the jack stands fail there will be at least another object holding the car up temporarily before I would get crushed. It's always scary.

Or better yet, I just don't get under my car anymore. Too old/lazy for it these days and just take it to a shop.
About the only thing I will do on my car are brakes. Just about everything else goes to the dealer or another mechanic.

For changing engine oil & ATF, I use ramps. The only time I use my floor jack is for removing wheels. The Costco or Harbor Freight jacks are fine for TLs- I have a Costco jack.

I will third the notion of putting other wheels / solid objects under the car along with the jack stands. Who cares of the car gets screwed up if the stands and jack fail, at least I won't get smashed.
Investing in the MaxJax portable 2 post lift either this year or next. They are about $2k and can be installed on 4" + thick concrete.

the ramps won't...they're way too short for a low car.
Justin, I meant when jacking up, trust me, I make sure the whole setup is stable before ever getting under. There was a girl on the rsx forums about 5 years ago...local girl, well, she came out to find her bf dead under her car after a jack failed. Trust me, I never forgot that. We take it for granted.

Take your time and make sure you follow all safety guidelines using chocks on the wheels, e brake, jack stands, etc.
you can jack the car from the front but I like to use the cradle. If you'd like to raise both sides of the cars use the front or back, if you want to raise the sides use the Side flanges.

Yeah, seriously...and he was working on HER car. She had a lot of guilt. Poor thing...I think she was hot too IIRC.
Anyway, thanks Justin. And the Chocks is a good point, being on an incline, I'm going to order those right now...I rely on using a combination of ebrake or leaving in a gear to hold it mostly, but chocks guarantee no movement.
Other than that, my arsenal of jack stands, 2 beefy jacks and 1 bottle jack should do the trick.

Don't buy a ramp then, build one. Then it doesn't matter how slammed your car is. Probably be cheaper that way anyways.
They do make ramps meant for lowered cars but they are expensive as fawk.

What's the distance from the tire to the front of the aspec lip? Anyone know? And for those who are slammed, whats the height ground to aspec lip? Then we can factor out how long a home made built ramp has to be.
Sucks about the one car though J.

Insurance would cover this without a doubt, but your rates would go up as it is an at fault claim. Never lift your car from the core support like that... It may take more time to lift your car the proper way but at least you wont screw up your core support or coolers.
