TL Drink Cup Chiller- New Feature

Okay, things are warming up here in Phoenix and I have been using the AC more. One thing I've noticed is the metal accent next to my right leg gets pretty cool, so much so I can feel it freezing through my pants since my leg rests against it while driving. So I deduce this is because the air for the rear vents mounted on the console is probably traveling inside the console next to this trim cooling it down from the inside.

So then I had an idea for Acura. Instead of cooling the metal trim, why not pass the air in the console around the cup holder? It would make for cool drinks in the summer when you are running the AC and warm coffee in the winter when you're running the heat. What do you guys think???

moreace - creamy's from Oregon and probably just following his local idiom:

Check this out.

That website is scary for two reasons:

(1) That it even exists.
(2) That I knew about it.

Here in New England we call it tonic or soda. Around here if you hear "Want to go out for a pop" it usually means going to a bar.

Grew up in Boston, live in Boston, and went to college in Boston. Sorry to dissapoint, but a water fountain is called a water fountain. Your friend musta been hanging out at school with some wierdos from Ohio or something. kidding.

The Saab 9-5 does something similar; they run the AC into the glovebox so you can stick a can of tonic (thought I'd introduce the New England word for soda or pop into this discussion) in there and it will chill down to 45 degrees (so they claim).

Yes its POP!

Yep, we call it 'POP' in Ohio. Grew up there, went to college there but don't live there now. Everyone in the south calls is soda or they call it 'coke' whether its Orange pop or any other flavor. I find that odd.

I am steaming mad

WE had this entire thing freshman year of college with my NY roommates

It is a PIZZA not a PIE!
Ask for a pie and they are liable to ask if you want cherry or apple

It is a SUB not a HOAGIE!
What in the blue hell is a hoagie. I would throw you out of my shop for just asking for one (I don't have a shop)

It is called FISHBOWLING not a HOT BOX! or I forget the others

It is SODA and nothing else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

k, done venting

Your are right in the South it is a "Coke". If you ask someone if they want a coke and they say yes, you then ask what kind.

I prefer Pepsi, Dr. Pepper or RC...but you say you want a coke. It is used like a generic term like kleenex or band-aid.

Soft Drink would be the second most used term in the South and Soda probably third. Only "fereners - foreigners" say Pop.

How about a Gyro or a Hero instead of a Hoagie or Sub? Gyro can be pronounced multiple ways "GEERO" or "JEERO" or "JIRO" with a long "i". Well, which one is correct?

Its Pizza, not pie.

Never heard of a Hotbox or fishbowling, but I've suffered through some bars and restaurants like them.

Never heard pop called "a tonic" but maybe I don't get out enough!

All I know is its sunny and 76F here today with no snow (unlike my hometown of Cleveland, OH), even if it is UCLA (the Ugly Corner of Lower Alabama)!

Gyro is greek. It's pronounced h-YUR-o (sounds kind of like the money Euro, except with an HY to start).

I first had one in Greek Town in Detroit many years ago, where they pronounced it correctly.

After that, I heard people saying GYRO (prouncing it phonetically as j-I-ro) and didn't even realize what they were talking about.

Not everywhere in Canada is it called pop. I still can't get used to saying pop even though most people out here in Alberta say pop. I call it a 'soft drink'. Pop sounds like something a little kid says.

Cheers!

Had a moonpie just the other day. A patient brings them to the Ortho clinic and I, as the Radiologist, am offered one on occasion.

Hoagie is a term that came from Philadelphia. Much of the work that was done on Hog Island was done by Italian immigrants who carried sandwiches made on long rolls. The sandwiches came to be known as Hogies which somehow got translated to Hoagies over time...

There are some (very few) advantages to being old <G>!
