TL at the dealer for 105k service

I'm having the TB, WP, Drive Belts, seals, coolant flush, tensioner done for about $850. I feel like that's a fair price for everything added up. I've read several other threads on what others pay.

I have a 2014 MDX for a loaner. I might be trading in my TL for the MDX

$850 is a good deal. I've seen it as high as $1300.

Man, if you do that the dealership owns your ass lol. Not only did you go in there and pay to have that expensive service completed which they now wouldn't have to do on your trade...because you did it for them, but they won you over by putting you in a fancy new 2014 loaner. It's a smart business strategy really. :-)
Im sure your kidding, but if not then it's too bad you spent all that money since you won't get it back.
Sounds like a good deal though on the 105k service.

Some people could care less about costs if money is no object.
This is obvious as there are about 16 million new cars sold yearly and the buyers aren't doing it to make money, and when one factors in depreciation, insurance, repairs, normal maintenance, never a profit, in fact it's like throwing money out the window.

Yeah, I'm kidding. It's a pretty sweet SUV, too. They gave the one with the tech package.

If I did a trade, it would be to a NBP Type-S 6spd. That's it. I've been on the hunt for quite some time now.

LOL very true. Very smart business strategy. When my TL had the major service done, they gave me a new ILX. Now I'm having rear lower control arms done & they gave me a brand new RDX.

They know I just purchased my TL but its very smart letting me sample Acura's current portfolio. So far I am impressed & when ready Acura will be at the top of the list.

The cost for your 105k services is good.

Priority Acura in Chesapeake, VA. They're running a timing belt special for $695 not including the tensioner. I said if the tensioner looks like it needs to be replaced, to do so. I'm only at a little over 100k miles. I figured since it's a decent price, might as well knock it out.

That is a good price and often time your local Honda dealer is a good inexpensive option as well.

I actually called two Honda dealers at first. One was $890 OTD and the other was $905 OTD. In the end the Acura dealer had them both beat (which I was surprised about although I knew there was a coupon involved.)

My car is currently spending the night at Hamilton Honda for it's timing belt service. $649 made it worth the almost two hour drive. Local dealer wanted $1300 and that didn't even include the water pump!

Update: so I picked up the car and everything was going fine until it came time to pay. The invoice was $929.xx. It seemed high but I had to get to work so I paid it.

I got to the office and noticed that the special price was $695. They actually charged me $731. I called the dealer and spoke with the service director. They got it all corrected.

I think what pissed me off was about nonchalant about the whole thing. Although they did correct it, it makes me wonder how many people don't check their invoice and just assume it's right.

Hamilton Honda has been running service specials on the TB, water pump, etc off and on for a couple of years. There are members here on AZ that have driven from New England and other places to take advantage.

Yeah, my car went 10 years and 100k miles without issue. I'm glad it's done, and nowi can enjoy another 100k.

Varying opinions on mileage vs. time, but believe most will say mileage. You should check out Hamilton Honda in NJ...........

I live 2 hours from the nearest Acura dealer, but about 15mins from the Honda dealer. Honda tells me they can't work on my car because the Honda parts won't fit Acura's. Even though all my Acura parts come in little Honda bags.

Honda dealers can't do warranty work, but can do all service related items.

Heads up for those of you in South Florida... Acura of Pembroke Pines has the 105K timing belt service priced at $699 right now... if you're about due for it, you should take advantage of it. Mine is coming up as well and I'm gonna go to them to have it done rather than my regular shop, for the convenience of that loaner.

Fu... I work in Pembroke Pines but live in Southern California.. That's a damn good deal but I don't think it'd be worth driving my car across the country for it..

It's good to see the folks at Hamilton still taking care of us with the 105k service. I'm pretty sure I've driven the furthest to get mine done there.

This happens everywhere when a bill comes after the service. Businesses rake in tons of money on customer negligence/idiocy.

But dude $900 for all that is a damn steal these days for the 105k service.

That's a ride. All in one day??

I got coupons in the mail today from Herb Chambers Honda. One was for a Timing Belt Replacement:

$499 - 4 Cylinder
$599 - 6 Cylinder

I haven't inquired as to whether this would include Acura's but I don't see why not. As mentioned above, this same dealer has been after me to bring in my TL-S. Not sure what is going on there either as they had about 2 or 3 dozen brand new Mercedes Benz on the lot. Herb is probably just expanding his empire...........

Certainly sounds like a growing empire. The $599 price sounds good, it's likely good for the Acura but you'll know once you call in the morn. One thing it likely won't include is the tensioner, which I'd recommend since they're already taking care of the 105K service.

Yea...I did it all in one day. Left pretty early in the morning, they provided a loaner and a few hours later I was back on the road heading home.

720? You sure? I'm from Maine, and it's almost 1800 miles (1 way) to my hometown from the Tampa area, and Pembroke Pines is prob a few hundred south of Tampa (haven't calculated). ?
