It is shorter but not much shorter than previous gen to notice a difference. However I think 183-186inches long would be ideal.

is it not getting into the TSX range, I mean thats why they have 3 sedans, 3 different sizes, for different age group, TL buyers are generally married with at least 2 kids, and I think the present size is good, TL will never be a BMW in terma of handling, with TL you get the near best of many worlds and thats its appeal.

I would agree - the TL should be for people who are looking to comfortably transport more than 2 people. The TSX is for people looking for a slightly sportier type who don't really need the passenger space. Frankly I'd like it about the same as the current length but with more rear passenger room and less trunk space. Make the rear seats fold down for when you need extra cargo space.

More rear passenger room. To me there is plenty of leg room for the rear passengers. Or are you suggesting hold three adults in the rear seat? I like the current trunk space. My understanding as to why the rear seats do not fold down in the TL is to maintain the rigidity for sportier driving.

How about if they just work out some of the bugs in the current model. One thing I would like to see corrected would be the menu in the information center wont stay on handsfree or milage info, every time you start the car you have to select them. And why is the handsfree button on the steering wheel? have you ever tried to drive around and hit that button while making turns, not very safe. How about they move it down with the seat heater buttons.

I'm not sure about the rigidity if that is the case I could understand it.

As for three people - no I'm just saying I have plenty of friends who are about 6ft tall and I myself am 6ft tall. I've gotten in the back and usually the front seats are all the way back so the people in the front are comfortable two so there isn't much leg room. So you could either say I want more leg room in the front or the back but in the end I'm hoping the people in the front AND the back can be comfortable. If the people in the front - particularly me - the driver have to adjust the seat position for guests that is less than ideal since you should be in your ideal position when driving.

I have the seat relatively straight up so it isn't because I lie down while driving.

I think the rear leg room is more than adequate compare to a IS350/BMW 330i/Audi A4 but would be really good if the rear seats can fold down. I think the ski hole is quite useless because how many ppl do you know that goes skiiing.

COMPLETELY AGREE I don't understand how folding seats would compramise rigidity or stability atleast when in upright position, and if does compramise when folded down that would be .005% of your total drive time, so i think it must be done.

I am not an automotive engineer, however, to allow for folding rear seats (whether the seat is up or down) means:

A) Reduce body rigidity of the vehicle OR
B) Increasing the weight of the car in order to design additional structures to replace the loss of the rigidity.

As an example, some car reviews will reveal this issue. The following link is to a review for Mazda.

The Mazdaspeed6 sacrifices fold-down rear seats for increased body rigidity.

I would sacrifice 3 MPG, 15 Horsepower, and pay $3,000 more just to have these f*c*in' rattles eliminated

Definitely a Mark Levinson or Harmon Kardon audio system instead of the weak ELS surround.

TL Changes coming sooner?

With all the pressure building up on the 3G TL from the new IS & Passat Iam pretty sure that 07 TL will have extensive changes including New front and rear grill as seen in the 05 SEMA Pics, won’t be surprised if a S type is introduced, and then in 08-09 the 4G TL, by the way sooner TL goes AWD the better Iam sure its in the pipeline too.

Again a poll to see what the TL community want TL to have

1. More aggressive front grill
2. Key Remote
3. Side view mirrors with indicators
4. MP3 and Hard drive reading capability
5. Rear View Camera
6. Better Paint and Tire quality
7. Less Rattles
8. 300+ HP
9. SH AWD
10. Optional Hybrid may be 3K more.

Am I missing something? Is the 2007 TL going to still be a third generation with a new fourth generation in 2008 or later? Thanks. Steve

No, you're not missing anything, the 2007 will be a 3G TL still. The huge speculation here is about the MMC (mid-model change) that Honda typically does for each model in the middle or 2/3 of the way through the model run. The Accord got its MMC (mostly changing that ugly-ass rear end) and now it's the TL's turn.

Please continue the discussion in the HUGE 2007+ TL thread HERE.
