What's up, TL gang? It's been a little over a year since I sold my 06 and there are definitely things I miss about it, so I thought I'd share so you can all remember how great these cars are.
The styling hasn't aged since 2004, which blows my mind - it still looks modern to this day. Aggressive, yet subtle, and somehow classy at the same time. The HID headlights were great on mine, definitely better beam pattern than my current LEDs. The little side markers inside the "indent" strip that runs down the sides of the car have always been a nice touch and, again, they look modern in 2021.
My TL had the most comfortable seats out if any car I've owned, hands down. I did a 15hr trip one time and I wasn't tired at all. The interior overall was nice - good ergonomics, nice thoughtful touches, clear gauges, etc. The fit and finish were superb too, definitely a very well made car.
I definitely miss having a third pedal a lot. Miss the engine sound too, my new car is almost silent and that's no fun.
I don't know how Acura achieved this, but my TL never had any wind buffeting at all. I really miss that! In my current car I can't just open the sunroof and cruise, the buffeting is really obnoxious unless I crack open a window too.
I replaced my TL with a Fusion Sport and although I miss the TL, it was an upgrade. AWD and 325hp/380tq can make up for a lot of other shortcomings. Enjoy your TLs, guys, there's really nothing comparable for the money these days and it's a great car to not have a payment on.
I'm still rockin' my 2006 6MT and will happily keep driving it for years to come. That said, I may buy it a sibling next year, the top two on my short list are a 2022 Golf R 6MT and a 2022 Cayman 6MT. Even with either of those in the garage, my TL will most likely continue to be my daily driver.
Don’t sell your TLs guys! Just get the new car and keep the other one as spare if possible. 100% agree with Level that this is so much more than an old car and is one hard to replace when all things are considered.
The state of used TLs is really, really sad. Too many kids and slobs are running them into the ground now. I can't remember the last time I saw one that wasn't absolutely trashed inside and out. If you have one in good condition, don't trade it in or sell it. Or at least sell it to another car person.

I think I've seen exactly one TL on the road since I got up here, the rest were all in junkyards and clearly weren't cared for. Down in Florida I'd see a lot of them all beat to hell on the road and in used car lots.
