A few years back I owned a 1996 Mark VIII, with the airbox closed and standard air filter in place it ran 15.1@96mph, not too shabby. With the airbox a-jar and no air filter it ran 14.8@97.4mph.

Has anybody tried this tactic with the TL, or is the air-box good enough in the TL that taking out the filter won't help.

I've thought about getting a K&N, after the dealer finishes fixing things.
