TL is "aimed at women and families"
Look what I found on Internet - a review of Acura TL says that "...a vehicle to test that is so obviously aimed at women and families...". Here is the whole article
The guy though makes a statement that the car is for families also and many guys would buy it as well, and it's not a "chick" car either. So, I am wondering what would be your definition of the market fof TL?
I am a guy and I bought this beauty because it looks cool inside and out, it has the power and low on the gas consumption comparing with the Nissan Xterra, which I traded in at Acura dealership. Though I may agree that the car is damn beautiful and girls love it

tried to click the link, but i have to register at their site. No thanks, I get enough spam as it is. I think I may have read this article before though, it was posted on here a while back basically saying that the TL is a chick car and he has one because of his wife or some sh*t like that. blah whatever, the TL is the best looking car IMO in the 30 grand price range. So I definetely agree with you there.
The only reason "chicks" by the TL is because they don't have a choice anymore as all TL's are 270 HP now, does this guy honestly think that if the TL still had a standard and Type S version that "chicks" would STILL get the Type S? Some still would but most would be happy with the Standard version.

Weird, when I first clicked on the link it asked for registration - true, but next time I tried it - it let me through.
And if it was posted here before - than it's old news But I just bought the car (less than a week) and just found the article. Silly me

I read the article after I bought the car as well. Most 4-door cars are aimed at families rather than unmarried singles (think G-35 sedan v. coupe, or BMW 3 series sedan v. coupe). I don't think the TL is obviously directed to women at all, unlike H-2s and lots of SUVs, but marketing target doesn't matter to me as long as the car performs well. The TL is a great car, even if my wife prefers it to her minivan...

When I originally bought my car last year, I asked who the target audience was for the TL or rather what age are they mainly. The dealer told me that primarily it's for the late 20s to about 40. I think it's geared to the right segment. Granted there are many younger folks on this board but I don't see them driving a TL around my area. Granted I'm getting to my late 20s soon . I do see lots of women driving it.

Maybe he's either a femi-man (male feminist type) or p-whipped, or perhaps he has this thing about patronizing his female audience so as not to "offend" (as in PC).
Sure ladies buy the TL. However, in my area, the overwhelming majority of people I see driving this car are males. Families? Not so much a family car as it is a car for the person who likes cars and also happens to have a family (I fit that group, though my girls are grown and gone).

When I had my 2004 Maxima (before trading for the TL) I used get pi$$ed because I'd see a lot of older people (60+) driving Maximas....It's the Camary phenomenon: Older, frugal people with fixed incomes buy "sensible," "reasonably priced" cars. There are millions of grannies out there driving Camarys, Avalons, and yes, even Maximas!
Every time I'd see a granny in a Max, I'd think...I gotta dump this thing!!! lol
Now, I get the news that the TL is a "chick" car?!?!?!?! THAT's IT!!! It's time for a BMW!!!
Just kidding....I love my TL! Although a Bimmer might be in my distant future.

There are a lot of reasons the TL is better than the Maxima. The reason I got the TL over the G35 sedan was because thats ugly(I know the most about cars, so my folks gave me a price for their new car, and I got to choose!) and the TL is hot, on both the outside and the inside(amazing, the only thing lacking is one of those cool pop out saab or benz cup holders).

I've seen alot of older gentlemen (40+) drive em stock, a few chics (mid 20's) drive stock or put some rims on of the same size (why??) with tints, a handful of younger guys (mid 20's to early 30's) drive em stock with tints, some with rims (18's)/tints, and some with body kit/tints but no rim/tire upgrades or drops. I've seen 2 a-specs both driven by guys also......
That's about it but compliments come from just about any age group, any sex, and even by a handful of guys who drive F150's, Chevy's and Dodges (never would have thought this....).

It is a good car, has plenty of room for a midsize, and has enough snot when I step on the gas to get me where i want to go fast. It gets very good gas mileage as well.
Maybe it is a Realtor's car. Maybe it is a dentist's car (knock your fillings out?).
Beginning to see how silly this looks to some of us?
Do I give a ratz azz what some reviewer thinks is the demographic group? No. (I have those numbers, because i get press packs from Honda - but I barely glance at them, and give them no thought - IMO, true Car people do not care what others think, esp in terms of "chick stuff" like "does the color of my TL fit my winter palette"? Cheesh.
Neither do I care if he thinks I am having a midlife crisis becuase own and drive I drive high perf sports cars too.
