TL & 330i. Accord Coupe. G35.

*Anything can and will happen on the street.*

Ok, a few more runs at the beginning of this week.

- 2004 330i. All Stock. 6MT.
- No passengers in either car.

Well, I was getting onto the local freeway when a BMW decides to cut me off. I disregarded it till he gunned it on the entrance ramp. After that I knew he wanted to play. We had two open lanes and we were just going normally till he jumped. I was about a car and a half behind him. Let me just say, those 330i's might not be M3's but they have some balls. He gunned it first and I had a delayed reaction but I gunned it too. So from 55mph to about ~105mph. I managed to stay relatively close to him. I guess it's not really a race, cause we didn't line up but I will say it again; they're decently quick when they get the head start. We got off on the same exit and the owner and I exchanged a few words at the light and he told me he was all stock and a 6MT. Fun stuff. Wish we would've lined up though.
__________________________________________________ ________________________________________

- 2009 Accord Coupe. 4-Banger. Auto. LOL
- Both of us had 1 passenger.

So, I know this girl that's a little bit older than me and lives up the block. She got an '09 accord coupe a while ago and she's got a few stickers on it. She even cut her resonator out to sound "aggressive". . I giver her props for trying at least! haha. But yeah, she was egging me on to race cause. She said she really liked the TL, asked if my headlights were 6k's, etc. all sorts of car questions. She even took pictures of both cars with her phone.
- We lined up from a roll of 10mph = At least a bus length to 60mph. At the minimum.
- From a light. = Shut down at 65. Over a bus length.
__________________________________________________ _________________________________________

- 2007 G35 6MT. 19x8.5/9.5 Volk GTC-1's. Slammed. Test Pipe.
- I had 1 passenger. He had none.

So me and the accord pull up the gas station so she can get gas. We were talking cars and she was surprised that TL was that fast and that she "didn't kill me". Afterwards, we decide to hit one more light on the way home and we line up. What a coincidence that the girl's boyfriend is in the turning lane next to me. We yell at him to switch one lane over and get behind me. The light turns green and I pull up a little. The G gets behind me and then gets on my right side. The accord guns it to get out of the way.

- From a 25roll. I'm in L with VSA off. I honked = I took him by a car length. He claims that he left his traction control on and that's why he lost.
- From a dig to about 80mph. He honked. = He crept away from me. Probably like 2-2.5 cars when we shut it down. I thought he would pull a lot harder.

I've blistered a couple G35's here in town, surprisingly. I jumped on one the other day that is painted yellow and busted his ego.. although he might not know how to drive? I was amazed to see that he couldn't touch the TL.

Really? I never get to race G35's. I really want to though. I remember a Z that pulled a car on me.

Got it!

That's a drastic difference between you and the G.

The Z's are going to be much stronger competition anyways. G35's have some extra weight like the TL they have to lug around.

very well, but you didn't mention what G is was 07 coupe or 07 sedan(different engine). Anyways bad driver(especially manual 6 speed)on G side. Should have been atleast 4-5 cars from dig and couple length from roll for G.If he launches 6 speed the right way he should put 2 cars on you immediately
You drive auto, its no brainer.

I agree ... the 6MT owner didn't really know how to drive or you must have caught him in the wrong gear.

My bad. The G was an '07 coupe and yes, it should have sh*tted on me! But it didn't. Whose to say the guy wasn't taking it easy? lol. I accept it as a loss and I have no complaints.
As far as the roll goes, I know I pulled and trust me, I'm not trying to convince myself that my FWD "slush-box" is faster than a 6MT RWD car with a bigger engine and similar weight.
Hell, maybe he let off early. haha. Who cares? I do it for fun.

Don't under estimate those 330i.

As far as I know, the '07's (coupe/sedan) had the same engine. It was '08 that the coupe got the VQ37, '09 for the sedan.

That being said, the G required a driver mod.

Nice/fun kills.

I know, I've raced a modded 330i from a dig 7 times. Every night after we'd leave the gym. I only beat him once.

Hopefully in due time I'll make her "pop VTEC"

I love my car, I've said it numerous times. haha. If it was RWD and 6-speed than I think it would be the best in it's class.

That info is correct as far as I know.

I agree, I would've pulled much harder on a 5AT TL, had I been driving the G.

Thanks Vash!

Surprisingly, one review which threw the Type S in with the 335i, G37, & another car or so thought the exact same thing and would be just under a 335i.

nice runs man! my only experience with the g35 coupe's back in the day, was a white one, automatic. i believe i was fully bolted on at the time; we raced from a roll at 55...i pulled a car length immediately. i shut it down by 4th gear, only because i knew he would creep away. by the end of 3rd, i was still a cars length ahead.

Thanks Erick! I've been quite "active" in the kills section lately, to say the least. .
That's good, but if you were fully bolted and you only pulled a car length then these G's must mean business. I've heard so many mixed opinions on whether or not a TL is capable of pulling on a G/Z. Guess I'll have to find out first hand.

I may be wrong and could upset some members on here, but if Acura ever throw the RWD setup on the TL. Will the car make enough power/torque like the other Makers? Will the power curve the same? The design of the car will have to be different and could be carrying more weight don't you think?

The 07 G coupe and 07 Sedan has to different variants of the VQ35. The 07 Coupe still used the 293hp (manual) DE verison of the engine, the 07 Sedan used the 306hp HR version of the VQ35.

And boy do those HR sedans move. My mom has the 5AT 'X' and that thing is QUICK. It feels faster than my car and would certainly be a good run. I've pulled on one before, but that thing is really quick.

I'm thinking basically the 3rd gen body (but with shorter front overhangs) in RWD with the 3.7 and a 6MT, making about 350 hp/320 tq at the crank, with a curb weight under 3400 lbs. That'd be killer!

e46 M3 is nice and all but I want to retain Acura reliability, plus, my proposed super TL would actually have much more torque than the e46.

It probably wouldn't suffer from rear subframe seperation either which afflicts many E46 3 series including the M3 I am still terribly fond of the E46 M3, even if the RSF wants to tear away from the rest of the car.
