Tire swap in SF Bay Area?

I'm getting my replacement Bridgestones from the dealer soon and had asked them to swap for another tire. They wouldn't budge, even though I was willing to pay the difference. Some of you here went through the same thing, but you were able to get a local tire shop to do the swap instead. I've been calling around and haven't had any luck with it. Has anyone had any success in the SF Bay Area? If so, where and how much credit did you get? I had one call to a local Big O Tires and I couldn't help but laugh in their face when they offered me $10/tire. My car wash costs more than that!

I plan to do the same. Local tire dealer says they will credit me, but won't say how much until they see the tires. Sorry, this doesn't help you at all.

$10 a tire is what I was offered too. Which dealership are you going to?

I decided against that and just stuck it out with the Bridgestones.

10 dollars is very reasonable these days. Lots of places will charge you around $20 -30 each tire.

No, they're only giving you a store credit of $10 per tire so you can buy another brand. I think you misunderstood.

How is $10-$30 credit per near brand new tire reasonable? It retails for $160+ each on tirerack.com. I've read that some others got around $300 credit for their tires. Now that's more reasonable.
