Tint suggestion!
darkness of tint is not an indication of how cool tint will keep your car nor will tinting the windshield keep the dash from cracking. Go to a Huper Optik dealer and see how even their clear ceramic tint is UV inhibitive and even reduces the heat transferred. IMO 20% is too dark for our cars unless you are trying not to be seen. i have 35% all around.
Any one here have the crystalline tint?
At my shop we have two types of tint, hi-reflective & lo-reflective. The hi is harder to see in, but not out. The low is easier to see in so you can get away with being a little darker but it makes it harder to see out.
I have Solar Gard Hi-reflective 32% fronts 13% rear and brow.

Looking for a great shop near Chicago that does the 1/4 window 100% and guarantees their work ?
Sorry for Hijacking your tread. I am getting 35% all around because its now Legal In IL to have front windows tinted, but it must be 35% ALL around

I belive 25 is legal here in Boston but that douche came and put that device on both of the glass...rear was like 23
I forgot what sides were.. and wrote a ticket...
I took them off anyways...
Could be odd but, I don't like tints that much... that was the reason
I love the interior, and love to see it from outside..especially design on our seats are perfect... from front, fear I like how they look...
+ maybe LED's and my euro plate also hold me back from putting tint again...
If I had Infiniti G37...yeah definatly would be tinted... interior sucks

I just hate people looking at me at stop lights and shit, plus it's cooler inside and hides belongings a little better. I also like a darker car on the inside, can't stand it being bright, I'll be blind at 60 and massive wrinkles on my forehead from squinting all the time. NBP helps too, darker car looks better with darker tint
State police...
I went to court...they are like you parobably took of the tint since you came here...
I am like...

I tought maybe that douche won't show up..
and payyed it...
ASM looks perfect with the tint, that's why I planned on doing it again but lots of fried got pulled over because of it here in college area in Boston...
Where I live, the streets are just student....thursday friday saturday... all party and coops on around...some just sit in front of the streets whole night...
When you pass beside them with the tint...they f..king stop you since has notghing to do in the car sitting and watching girls

I have 35% front 20% rear tint, inherited from the previous owner. I won't say it's a good look, but you get used to it and it doesn't look as hideous as some would have you believe.
I like it for the functionality - front is light enough for comfortable driving at night, and the back is more than dark enough for privacy purposes.
Seriously, I don't get why people do <20%. I have ebony interior, and you can't see into the back seat, even in the daytime.
I've never been cited for it in California either. I know people who've been ticketed for 35% all around. Maybe cops think mine is lighter in front due to the contrast with the back?

The fancy heat rejecting tint sounds amazing and it's probably worth it, but I can't get over the pricetag. My tint (previous owner gave me receipt) was around $70 installed on the whole car. The shop did a great job and it still looks good years later. (aside from a couple tiny scratches where my radar detector fell down and slammed into the window)
Not knocking it though, I'm sure it's worth it if the car is 10 degrees cooler every time you get in on a hot summer day. I've just got sticker shock lol.

i did it for our 18mo who gets shuttled around in the back of my TL. since his recaro is far to big to fit in the middle, he has to sit next to the window. its hotter than hell here in TX otherwise i would have never spent that much. the display has this super hot heat lamp and when they hold the tint up next to it with your hand inches away, you feel virtually no heat. and if i could have justified baking my son i would have spent 70 bucks too, but his safety and comfort does not have a budget. moms not that great a driver, so i bought her a 12' King Ranch Expedition so that he is as safe as i can afford for him to be.

Recaro Baby seat FTW!! I have two of the boosters for mine. I have 15% on the sides and 5% on the rear. Considering switching to darker. I don't want anyone seeing in my car
none that i have noticed. only thing is that because of it being ceramic the bubbles normally associated with new tint take considerably longer to dissappear due to its inability or better yet, ability to prevent "stuff" to pass through the film. i also drive with polarized ray bans so i get that weird rainbow affect off of everyones car but nothing from inside.
I'm considering getting Wincos tint. Any one have any experience with this? It costs about the same as huper only the huper dealer here doesn't have an opening until the 23rd. Guys with wincos swear by it over huper
Do 35% all around. Easy to see and in the evenning it looks dark.
20% is good Also, easy to see I and out.
Don't go any lower than that, or your just driving around looking for headlights. Can'tsee in or out 5%.
I just tinted my TL, checkout some pics.

I haven't really seen any actual document or anything stating that wincos is a dyed tint. Only people saying they've heard it was a dyed tint. I asked what the film was made of but they said in all honesty that they didn't know what exactly it was made of but that it wasn't a dyed film. I believe it's offered in 70 and 60% as well. It probably does have some dye but I don't think this is just a regular dyed film
Does anyone know how to find out what your tints are at?! lol i bought mine with the front lighter then the back...i like the back it looooooks like it might be around 20-30% in the back and maybe 35-50 in the front. but how do i confirm this? i guess if i went to a shop that does tints they could tell me?
