Good Day! My 2005 6MT is about due for another timing belt. The last time I had it done (at 49k miles it was about 9 years old), I was able to take advantage of Hamilton Honda's $500 timing belt service deal. My gf (now wife) and I had a fun time driving from VA for the day to explore that area while the cool dudes over at Hamilton Honda got the TL fixed up. What kind of prices are you all seeing these days for the timing belt service (I had one done recently on an LX470, but hoping the TL is a bit less pricey)?
I'm now in Southeastern NC and am considering selling the TL and am weighing whether or not I should have the TB done prior to a sale or simply disclose that the last service was done about 100k miles ago and that its due. I would love to get your thoughts on this as well! As a side note, the reason I'm thinking of selling is that we now have 3 family haulers so this one would be out to then acquire either an S2000 or Lotus Elise (assuming we eventually see a pull-back in those prices).

500 is a great deal on a timing belt service! I’d expect to pay around 1200 assuming you’re going to do the water pump and other stuff with it. If you want to be a nice guy, you could do the belt before selling. But most people looking for a car like that would probably be okay getting it done.

900 to 1200 is about ballpark / (?) ... if I were shopping for a TL and it happened to be between two very similar cars as far as features and mileage, a recently done TB might sway me in that direction. Seeing as how yours is a 6MT and if it were also in decent shape, the car would probably quite honestly sell itself, with or without a recent service. It could probably help you bump your asking price though.
