Gotta give a massive shout out to Hamilton Honda. I have a buddy who lives 10 mins away from them so I took my 06 TL with 99K there last week (12/28) for the timing belt special (plus tensioner)and everything went fantastic. Top notch spot - place is huge and looks great - more like an Acura or Lexus dealer but bigger in every way. Got the ride there at 7AM, pulled into the massive garage, cleared everything with the service advisor, they brought the loaner (2012 Accord) into the garage for me (it was nice and toasty since they had started it 10 mins earlier - nice touch since it was 35 degrees that morning). I was on my way in no more than 20 mins (15 of which were spent searching for my insurance card). Got a call around 2pm that they were done - they just brought to my attention a motor mount that will need to be replaced soon (but they specified it wasn't an emergency) and the 105K service for spark plugs and valve adjustment (but no pressure to get it done now). I went back at around 6pm to pick it up and $497 later, I was on my way - they even brought my car back into the garage for me - big deal? no, but again very nice touch (tech wouldn't even take tip from me). They also saved the replaced parts for me (at my request) in the trunk.
Anybody considering getting this done and lives anywhere in vicinity, don't hesitate - nobody can match the price or service.
FYI - the timing belt special also applies to MDXs - I have an 04 MDX that's on-deck for this.

It never really is over. They have a revolving special. I plan on doing mine there in 2-3 months.

I am dropping the TL off at Hamilton on Monday evening.

Has anyone gotten their valve adjustment done there? My car is as quiet today as it was when I bought it and as quiet as the other TLs I drove. Just thinking if it's worth doing it now or not. Maybe I can see if they will cut me a break on that since they are already working on it.

Let us know how much they charged you for the valve adjustment.

They told me it was $289 on the phone but I was going to see if they can't reduce it a bit when I get there on Monday. Like I said, I don't think I absolutely need one done.

Whats funny is that the timing belt parts and labor is a much more involved compared to the valve adjustments. LoL

I would assume we could get the valve adjustments done cheaper at an independent. Either way let us know what they tell you.

Hamilton Honda Rocks

I dropped my TL off at Hamilton Honda yesterday evening. It took them about 10 minutes to get me all in the system, get car pulled in and get me in a loaner car for the night. Everyone was EXTREMELY polite and great to deal with.

The tech that took my car back was very clean. I always hate when a mechanic gets in a car when he is all covered in grease.

The loaner car I was given was a 2011 Accord. The car was very clean and drove like new.

I called at about 11:30 to verify that it was in the bay. The service agent I worked with said that they putting it back together. She also said that they did not find any other issues with the car while doing the courtesy check. She said it should be done by 2:00 PM.

I picked it back up at 2:30. All the paperwork was complete and all I needed to do was pay and trade cars. Start to finish the quality of service and customer support was excellent.

I was home by 5:00 PM. Felt about $500 lighter but A+ for a great Hamilton Honda experience.

They told me that there was no abnormal valve noise and even though I can still have it done, they didn't see why I would need to at this point. I chose to wait. I'm sure that I would have some people here say that I should have done it.

^ Just FYI there are no noise indicators for tight valves.

I don't think anyone has a crystal ball to predict the future, but it seems like this same dealer has had this deal going on for quite some time. I think their site mentions it expires at the end of the month, but they keep changing the date every month to extend the deal. Looks like a great way to gain new customers and seems like everyone who has gone there so far has been very happy.

Update: just got home to look underneath the hood and all seems and looks fine! I interacted with Sal the entire time and he was very helpful and professional as was the rest of their staff. The also finished in less than 5 hours. Overall I am happy and couldn't thank Azine more than enough to let me know of the timing belt deal!

Based on this thread and another thread on fatwallet, everyone seems to have had a great experience. This thread has even convinced me to make the drive there in the near future. If you call and schedule an appointment, they will lock in the rate for you. They charge heck of a lot less than any Acura or Honda dealer around me. In summary, I think Hamilton Honda knows their stuff very well!

I'm here at Hamilton Honda right now getting timing belt special and oil change. Will do plugs and valve adjustment when I get back to MD. Took me 3 hrs to get here from MD. Dealership is very nice and everyone very professional. I'm impressed so far.

Not if you turn it into a vaction. Plenty of Canadians make the trip to Wildwood in the summer, but just going to the dealership would not make sense as it's about 350 miles each way. At 28 mpg it will cost $100 for fuel @ 4.00 p/gal, and unless you sleep in the car you'll have a couple of overnight stays, maybe $250 along with food, say $100. Up to $950 total and that doesn't cover additional wear and tear on the car.

I guess you could leave around midnight, drop the car off and sleep in their loaner, pick the car and drive back home and you'd be out gas $100 and maybe $50 for food.

I drove up to Hamilton Honda from MD (3 hrs) last Saturday. My appointment was at 830am I actually got there at 730am. They took me right in. Everyone was very professional, the dealership itself is very nice. I'm not one to go to dealerships much but I must say I was very impressed. I did package with tensioner, they also said I needed a motor mount which I got done. I didn't get plugs or valve adjustment. My bill came up to $6XX with tax. They even ran my car through the wash at the end. Overall I was pleased. My service advisor was Sal. I recommend this dealer/service to anyone.

Just reached Hamilton Honda about 15 mins ago and am very impressed with their service. They didn't have any Honda loaner cars available, but they are getting me a free rental from Enterprise. I was looking forward to driving another Honda, but oh well. Hopefully all goes well.

$389 + $75 for the hydraulic tensioner. $497 out the door including tax.

Work performed by an experienced Acura/Honda mechanic to boot.
Can't beat that with a stick!

That is correct. I opted to get the spark plugs replaced too, but I bought the spark plugs on my own.

I replaced my drive belt a few months ago so I wonder if that'll drop the price a little?
