Just a quick follow up, my brother in law had his minivan taken care of last week with new $75 tensioner and was under $500 with tax. They had it done by 5pm (in at 1pm). They did of course try to sell him on other things like new brakes, cabin air filter, and a few other items. But I cant blame them since the TB/WP job is not making them any $$. They did use Type 2 Honda coolant too which was nice to see. One thing that made me wonder however, was they stated they changed the serpentine belt as they should, however it did not 'appear' to be new. Maybe it just did seem like a new belt..

I went to the site on my android phone but dont see the coupon.

Is there anyone partticular i need to talk to, to get the $389 price? I believe i talked to Melissa today.

Also, if i can't find the coupon online they said it can be found in the star ledger and another one. Anyone local to NJ or the dealership is there a local wawa or gas station i can grab one?

Thanks in advance.

The price went up as per their site at HamiltonHonda.net. It's now $549 for the TB special. Prince Honda has the TB with tensioner special for $499. I'm thinking about getting this done early next year as well for my 05 TL. The car only has 38k on it but some say the years are a factor for changing it.

the timing belt needs to be replaced at 60,000 miles on the type-s correct? that's what my owners manual and the dealership tells me. what components on the type-s make this necessary to be done a whole 40,000+ miles before the non type-s? ugh... my dealership quoted me $990. fml...

the timing belts need to be changed at 105K not 60K. Don't waste the money, if you car is well maintain won't be necessary change it at 60K.

I just got my timing belt, water pump, and tensioner replaced on my 05 tl from hamilton honda. I paid $497. Thanks to you guys for pointing out this dealership and great deal. Saved me $600. They also provided me a loaner (2010 Honda Accord), free oil change, and free car wash.

And the dealership was one of the best dealerships I have ever been to. I would have NEVER expected the staff perfessionalism from a honda dealership. Should my next car be a Honda, I would not even think about going to another dealership.

just had mine done with the spark plugs for 899+tax at the Acura dealership. Not too shabby by NY/LI standards. And they loaned me a 2010 TL SH-AWD. Nice trade off for a day.

$497 beats $899. I would have driven to NJ. I live in Central PA and if I cannot get someone to match the Hamilton Honda deal I will drive out to NJ to get it done.

But he got the plugs replaced too. They retail for $19+ each, so add about $120 plus probably an extra $60 in labor to change them and you're only talking about a $220 difference. Then factor in gas and time and the savings really isn't all that substantial, if any.

Actually $899, with plugs from an Acura dealer is pretty damn good.

+1 that's my take on that. It's a 3+hour roundtrip not factoring in the NY/NJ traffic and tolls!!

if this deal is around when I need the service, I'll be taking a road trip/vacation from St Louis to NJ... save some money and pay for part of my vacation... make some stops along the way and enjoy some good food and culture...

Morning , so I'm at Hamilton now
Left my house at 5 am. Arrived at 8am
Sat in traffic on the belt for almost 2 Fkn hours
ON A SATURDAY MORNING

I decided not to take the loaner since I'm not familiar
With the area. One thing that stands out. The employees seem to have a
Good relationship with their customers
A lot of upselling but that's expected. It's a business not a charity

Excellent people to talk with AND THEY LISTEN
Worth the 3 hour drive. Even if it's 4 5 or 8

took them 5 hours on the dot !

I ended up needing a passenger side motor mount and had them do the brake flush .

timing belt
tensioner
water pump
compressor belt
mount
brake flush

$709.32

definitely going back there for my valve adjustments.

+1

Just an FYI - Hamilton Honda is STILL running this deal - I just made my appointment - $389 for the TB service + $75 for the tensioner + free loaner. Unreal - best price I got from LI Honda/Acura dealers was $799 WITHOUT the tensioner. I'm just about to hit 100K miles on my 06TL but I got a buddy who lives about 7 miles away from them so gonna hang out with him and fam for a couple days to make a trip of it. To be honest, I am very skeptical at how Hamilton can undercut everyone with this price - I am a real believer of "if it sounds too good to be true...." - but I'm going to put my faith in my fellow ACURAZINERs and roll the dice...

I did the same thing my friend ("putting faith in AZiners"). Went off without a hitch. Hamilton does sooooooo many of these TB/H2O pump/belt changes that they have it down to a science. Don't sweat it!

Does anyone know if Hamilton Honda also changes out the Idler Pulley? Has anyone had it changed out as part of their timing belt replacement?

Excellent question - I've got an 04 MDX that hasn't gotten to 90K miles yet but I think it's ready for the TB service time-wise. I'm going to ask them about this when I drop off the TL. I'll report back...
