Thoughts on selling a previously damaged TL
I have a '07 TL-S coming off lease in a couple months. It has 22K miles on it, and is in great shape except for one issue. A few months ago, some drunk jackass clipped the left-rear corner of my car as it was parked on the street on his way home from the bar. The repair shop did a great job, and the car looks and drives exactly as it did before.
I had been planning on turning in the car at the end of the lease anyway, but from what I can tell, it looks like my payoff amount ($21,500) might be well under the going price for this car, even considering its history.
Is it worth offering this vehicle up for sale or should I just turn it in? I'm not really trying to make money off of it, but if I could make a few bucks and give someone else a good car at a good price, I'd rather do that if at all feasible -- but I've never tried to sell a car before where I was aware of this kind of issue in its past. (Also there's the issue that Honda Financial has the title, but I assume this is an issue that could be worked around.)
Is there any significant difference between this car's value and the payoff amount?

So you would be paying it off then selling it to someone else? That's a decent price but considering the history, it could be about what someone would get anyway. If you aren't trying to make some profit then I'd say turn it back in to the dealer. Selling a car is a lot more work than you'd think. All the paperwork and title and license and taxes...

i agree with the above, if you're thinking of selling your TL-S for lets say 23,500, i wouldn't bother for 2k. If you think that you can sell it for 27k (not saying you can, just making your pocket money bigger), then it's probably worth the effort.
The only car we sold personally, was my mom's audi A6, it wasn't too complicated, but she held the title, not sure what the difference is when you don't.
btw, bummer about your TLS getting hit.

Great feedback, thanks everyone. I don't think there was any frame damage, but I'm not 100% sure. I have the log of work that the shop performed, but it's all greek to me. If I were to try to sell it, I'd give that and the adjuster's accident photos to the buyer and let him come to an informed conclusion as to its condition. But, since it doesn't sound like it's worth much more than the payoff, I suspect I'll just turn it back in.
Too bad, it was a great car.

it WAS a great car
acura allows for repaired damage on lease returns so that should be ok
If you didnt shell out $everal grand the frame was fine
to sell it you would pay off acura first, they send title release- you go to dmv and change to legal owner as you, then sell and transfer title to new owner
get rid of it- there are plenty of nice cars out there
