Thought this was interesting about the integrated mirror blinkers

This may have been stated at some point before, but I was flipping through my 2004 TL catalogue and I noticed under the Exterior Features it stated integrated blinkers in the side mirrors. Very interesting… Now I really want them!!! I guess they thought about doing and just never got around to doing it...

I guess they got ahead of themselves. In the '05 catalog it says that there is a "card holder" on the driver's side sunvisor. I sure haven't found one

can't sue- my dealer had me sign a waiver about the blinking mirrors denoting that it was a catalogue mistake.

Wow! Are you serious?

Only the lamest of the lame would actually attempt to sue for something so stupid, especially when it's totally obvious that they are not there when you look at the car!

Mental anguish...

Exactly how have you been damaged?
I have suffered great mental anquish from the fact that my outside mirrors lack little lighted billboards advertising my direction of travel!
My hopes for a directionally unchallenged future have been dashed!
And I must now suffer a future of directional angst because Acura built up my hopes for a clear directional indication and dashed them.

So, I say, sue the bastards!

:wtf:

I am emotionally devastated that my car doesn't have OnStar, even though my quick reference guide contains info about it.

What am I going to do when I can't find my car in the parking lot of a mall and there happens to be a woman in the back seat having a baby?!

.....duh

haha...you guys crack me up. I agree that we don't need to get all worked up about the blinkers. But I think JMan has a valid point, it's interesting how they were obviously planning on putting them on the car but then decided not to. I personally like the way the integrated blinkers look, and also don't understand why the TSX has them and not our TL. my $.02

I guess I'll never get to be in one of those On-Star ads. :'(

I don't own a TL yet - maybe when Spring comes - but instead of blinkers on the mirrors, there are side markers. Wouldn't side markers + blinkers make the car looks fugly?

The likely reason...

These mysterious features that are listed and then disappear are probably just issues of total cost.

They planned on doing it, then, for one reason or another, they backed off likely because of cost or availablility issues.

The mirror housings used on the TL are the same as the Accord, just painted differently. Honda probably backed away from the mirror turn signals because the supplier couldn't deliver, or the cost was more than they anticipated.

Some planned 05 features probably bit the dust because of the big jump in steel prices since the costs are tough to pass along to the customer these days. It was easier to kill the planned feature off and keep the overall vehicle price down than try and pass the costs on.

I (like the rest of my Acurazine bretheren) have been damaged by society. It is this litigious society that assures us that if we have been in any way wronged, mislead, or we misunderstand a statement made by ourselves, the media, a company's representative or even a passing acquaintance, that it is our right, no ... our duty .. our obligation to sue the crap out of somebody. Someone has GOT TO PAY!!!! -dammit-

In fact someone will probably initiate a lawsuit against me for unfairly blaming society, so in order to avoid a prolonged legal battle I should probably delete this whole reply ...

Too late! The sheriff is on the way with the Summons and Order, and the Pleadings are in the mail to the trial court. You are toast! j/k

I also got a letter from an Executive VP saying sorry about the no blinkers on the mirrors, sorry no on-star, and sorry, no pre-tensioners on the rear seatbelts like the window sticker indicated (for all the above) that the car had them.

Obviously marketing forgot to check with the product design people.

Also, if you enter your VIN on the Acura customer site, and see your options, you will see that you have items on your car that you really don't (like brushed aluminum wheels, chrome door handles, body side molding, cargo tray, bag holder, etc, etc, etc)

I guess Acura is not so accurate??

Some of the joys of being an early adopter.

kosh and Michigan - very funny - you caught my drift. Now that we have established the damages, let's all sue in a class action for millions - hell, John Edwards is available again, to use that great hair and boyish good looks. Barf.

I won't agree or disagree on how they will look, but what I will say, since they decided to NOT put the blinkers in the mirrors, they should have made the front side markers blink when you put on the directional siginals!

Actually, if you had ONstar you would more likely to be able to have AcuraLink which uses onstar.

That WOULD be something worth griping about
