For those who cannot decide between Navi and non-Navi

I had my TL/Navi for two days now. When I was driving my 2003 Accord EX to Carmax for sale, I felt like the whole middle section of the front dash in my Accord was missing (obviously, my Accord didn't have Navi). I know $2000 is a lot of money, but if you are spending over $30,000 on a car, get one with Navi. You will be very happy about your choice.

By the way, I got $17,500 on my one year old Ex. The trade-in price at any dealers was around $16,000. Now, I just need to take good care of my TL!

Had I been able to get my color with the Navi I would have opted for the Navi, unfortunately this would have been an order and circumstances didn't allow time for us to wait.

Maybe next time.

OK, so I should have bought the Navi TL so that the middle of the dash in my other car seems like it's missing?

I'm not sure I'm understanding the logic, either that or it's not a very good justification all on its own for a $2000+ expenditure.

If the TL didn't have navi I wouldn't have bought it. Guess I lucked out when the I snatched the last navi availible at any of my local dealers. Lucky me, it was the color combo I even wanted.

Same here. Then again, I think Navi is just a toy for many of us. I am shocked though how accurate these maps are! Amazing technology!

Looking at the dash, when this car was designed (probably in 2000), I think they thought the navigation system would have been low enough in cost to include it (with Bluetooth and 5.1 audio). When it became clear that wasn't the case, I think they devised the non-nav setup. Just a guess...but an educated guess.

No do you have any guesses why there are two sets of voice recognition interfaces?

i got nav because it was the only 6MT with a dark interior in my area. I didn't want the nav. now that I have it, if I could have any car I would get NON-nav. I don't think it works very well, I don't think I'll use it a lot, and I don't think it's worth 2K. although it is a fun little gaget to show off with.

Because Bluetooth and Nav are separate subsystems? One of which is standard and one of which is optional?

I agree that the car looks kind of sad in that spot where the Navigation system sits on non-Navi TL’s. Which is one of the major reasons that I decided to blow the extra 2K on it. I was torn, because its one of those things that I kinda/sorta can justify, but kinda/sorta not justify.

In the end, my vanity took over and I decided that I have to have the navigation system. and somehow I justified the extra 2K with some lame excuse in my head.

I'm sure I'll use it, but 2K is 2K.

The Navi is so good, I'll never buy a car without it.

I received 2k off msrp for my car without nav, with nav there were only budging about 500 off. Plus there was a 3 month wait for the color combo i wanted anthracite/ebony 6speed. I know if I get navi I will not use it often plus when it comes time to sell those who purchased the nav might get only about 500 more for having it. I do not travel much and have lived in the same area all my life. I dont' mind the interior without the nav doesnt' look bad. Seems like most people are getting navigation. I think that is only cause there are not enough around. Once they start making more TL's with Nav the demand will slow down for the nav
