For those in MD who bought out of state
I just bought my new 04 TL from Turnersville Acura in NJ. Wow, what a price, $30,199 +$140 (doc fee) for a 6-speed without navi. I couldn't get anywhere near that down here in MD.
Anyway - the car is being built in May, so I should have it in June.
For anyone who bought out of state, especially at Turnersville, did they get your tags and stuff for you, or did you do it yourself? The finance manager told me I need to do it myself, but, I thought they would have taken care of it for me.
If I do need to do it myself, and pay the 5% tax at the time of registration, do I need to have a MD safety inspection done as well, or is that not needed since the car is brand new?
Thanks for any and all help,
Wayne

I got my car from Turnersville. I paid the MD taxes and tag fees when I picked up the car. They gave me a set of 20 day temp tags. They mailed me my MD tags several weeks later. You don't have to get any other inspections. I suppose you could do all the MVA transactions yourself, but it wasn't necessary. If you salesman told you that you should have to do it yourself, you should tell him to check again or speak with a sales manager.

Have the dealer take care of your registration. They will do it for you as they did for me. Just watch out for a possible delay. Chances are, you won't get the real tag from MD MVA within 20 days, which means you will have to get another temp tag from the dealer.

Hey jjay - how was your experience in Annapolis? I bought my 2001 TL from them, thinking they were really good and the price was ok. Then I went back for the 04, and they couldn't (or didn't want to) get the car I wanted. I went down to Radley in Woodbridge. Good folks, decent deal, not great. The svc dept is great.
