Thinking about a TL...

So I currently lease a G35 sedan, and LOVE the engine, and the tranny. I drive a little too spririted most of the time Anyways, it's a lease and my GF just moved 2 hours away, so obviously a lease is not such a good idea. So, my car is on swapalease now, the lowest lease on there by 100 bucks. So I am looking for a car around the 28-34k OTD max for my new car and HAVE to have nav and a good ipod interface with the NAV is definitely a plus. So, that leads me to a TL and a TSX. Besides the engine and slightly larger car are there any huge differences between the 2?

How is the factory IPOD interface?

Anything I need to know about either before buying, I am looking at both and so far best quote on a TSX in SoCal is 30.5k OTD with Navi, and 30 + TTL on TL, no nav, so around 35k OTD with nav I would think (can I get them down to 34k you guys think?)

Thanks in advance all!

In the 2007 TL and TSX both have a 3.5mm accessory jack for audio hookup, no screen text displayed, there are various options for add on modules that give control of the Ipod over to the stock head unit and steering wheel.

Read this 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ

Go with the navi countless members are all kicking themselves every time some new hack comes out for the navi or a touch screen adapter is introduced, its something you can add in the future but 99% of the members that bought a TL saying i will get it later never did. It’s not a weekend project.

I am a big fan of Nissan and I assume infinity has the same quality engineering so you will be happy to know that Honda / Acura have served a highly demanding user much like me very well.

If you do buy the TL i hope you will become a permanent member!

Welcome to the forums.

Here is a good thread for you: Undecided: 2007 TL vs TSX

The '08s are just around the corner, so you should be able to get some deals soon. What part of So Cal are you located? I know that Irvine and LA dealerships are always competitive.

You may want to check out The 3G TL Owners Sign In to see how much people are currently buying their TLs for.

As for the factory iPod interface, IMO, forget about it. You can find aftermarket modules that can do the same, if not more, for less. I have a whole section dedicated here: 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ

Theres lots of information on here and you can find them with a simple search. Good luck with your decision and purchase.

edit:
dennisil, you beat me to it.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, both of you

So, the valor seems up my alley for ipod integration. I am DEFINITELY looking for something that will display the names of songs, track info, etc on the screen. It appears the valor is the only one that does that, correct?

I am DEFINTIELY getting Navi, it's actually the whole reason I am not getting another G, I NEED NAVI LOL. And a G with nav will cost me around 38k I believe, so that's out for sure...

So it would appear I'm not going to be able to buy a new TL, so now it's down to 06 TL, with Nav, 8k miles, or a New TSX with nav...what do you guys think? Is acura certified a good choice to get the car I want but can't afford? Or should I go new?

Thanks again for all the help so far!

I'd Get the 06 TL over a new TSX...TL has more power, room, comfort and looks nicer
