After a few hours test driving the car yesterday, I think I know now why I'm not totally blown away by this model.
1. Exterior is too busy. I feel the profile on this car is spoiled by the side marker lamps and the groove running from the front to the back along the door handles. I have always like clean lines on a car - my 99 TL looks much more appealing to me in comparison. What's up with these lamps anyway? Reminds me of a truck or RV.
2. Rear - the fake graphite-looking panel around the license plate just looks cheesy to me. Again, just too busy.
3. Front - brushed aluminum finish on emblem just doesn't do it for me and embossed ACURA on bumper looks cheap. Florida doesn't require a front tag, so I like to leave the front uncluttered.

Bottom line is I'm going to pass on this one. Despite the impressive performance and cool technology, I just can't get past the exterior.

Nah. This exterior, I think, is better than the previous one. However, the little annoyances you have noted are present, I think, in every car. That being said, I think there is no reason to get the new one if you already have a '99.

I hate the way the tail lights look. I think the white backup light would make it look much better.
