Ive had my tl for a few months now and I have an occasional confrontation with other sport sedans, revving at lights and passing and cutting me off looking to race, of course racing on the street is a waste and can easily end up badly.
just curious what kind of cars you guys find doing this the most. personally I have had this happen with at least 4 or 5 audis mostly a4s.

The best are the guys that try and provoke you to race on the highway, and show off by zipping through traffic, and you hold on to the speed limit, and still end up passing them because they got caught behind a semi or bus. lol. I just shake my head as they watch me go by. I didn't by my TL to prove anything to anyone. I bought it because I love the f*ckin thing. If I wanted to race around the streets I would have bought a go kart..

I have smashed it on a couple of guys but not all the time. I have had RSX, Integras, and couple of Audis one time a older version M3 wanted a piece of the TL and I let him have in on the high way lol, yea I know this is dangerous but I’m not doing 100 or 120.

It's weird cause I notice the people that are looking to race/driving dangerously fast are typically civics/integras/corollas...you name it..

Whenever I see a really nice car on the freeway like a S 55 AMG or something they're always just cruising at the speed limit like me

Hmmm.... I dont get much attention from other Luxury Sport Sedans.
Maybe its just me. I dunno. The times I've noticed someone wanting
to race me it was a Mustang, Camaro, & a 300Z. I agree with you about
racing in city streets. No need for it, can end up bad. I've seen it.

There's a couple of retards from work that keep trying to race me every time we get out in the afternoon one is a Mini Cooper and the other a 03 or 04 5 series BMW. On the road I've had many G35's and 350Z trying to match up next to me also. If I wanted to race I wouldn't have bought the TL Base.. neither a TL-Type S..

I just think many of them get annoyed that the TL is so clean looking and has a nice balance between luxury and performance that they feel the need to try to race it to feel good with themselves..

HAHAH sounds like me back in the days... I can tell you exactly why they do it.. They are young and love to race and go fast.. i am still young and sometime have that feeling. but it gets old, just wannt chill and cruise..

The TL is my wifes. She tells me other TL owners are the ones who want to race her.

Although she said a schmuck in a Corolla wanted to show off the other day, but she shut them down.

As the TL is stock except for the chrome wheels, haven't really had anyone try to egg us on, but when we have the RX7 Turbo out, it seems as every car wants to try and get in front of us, station wagons, econoboxes, trucks, etc. I guess the bright red, chrome wheels, wide tires just bring out the aggression in people.

My son tells me the same story when he has his Suzuki bike out that will turn the 1/4 in 10 seconds, everybody wants to race him, doesn't matter car, truck, or bike.

yah ive had a couple of cars try to race me. i think its the Type-S badge lol.

but when they see me paying no attention to them, they actually slow down and drive normal. i guess im a good influence

i don't get any of those anymore. back in the day, i used to get picked on by stupid rx8s, civics, and integras. i've had a few encounters with some higher ends, but of course...i never bite

I bought my TL cause its Luxury, I was tired of trying to make my car the fastest!! I learned something, there will always be a car faster than you. So I decided to get a TL cause it looks pimp. But the CT Supercharger for the TL is starting to look good

A chevy Cobalt SS, he kept pulling next to me and revving..... I just ignored him.. he kept going and going.. .I was tempted to step on the gas.. but I had a 1" hole on my AEM CAI.....finally as he is getting off the exit, he lowered his window a bit and gave me the thumbs down... Oh well.. enjoy your Chevy...lol.

I never understood why people in "inferior" cars think that they can show off. How is a Civic/Integra ever gonna beat a TL? At least have a comparable car or better yet, something actually faster. Some people just need to compensate for other things...

True.. strange thing too.. Z06's.. I've never seen one being driven like an ahole. I think it all depends on the maturity complex. Most immature axholes can't afford a nice car with muscle.. Most people who can afford nice rides with muscle aren't dumb enough to risk the lives of others over some b.s.

the issue is people feel a need to make themselves feel better, or try to prove something like their car is faster than the one they want to race. When I take my car out, its to drive and relax, not to race. I'll admit I've exceeded the speed limit a few times, but it happens to all of us. I think the funniest thing ever that has happened to me with these street racing idiots was the day I got the 760, some idiot in a VW (I think it might have been a jetta) starts reving his car at the light while getting on the highway.

I let him rev his car and I start playing with the i-drive system. When the light turned green I accelerated normally, probably revved to 2.5K RPMS and then I hear his car trying to accelerate as fast as it could and I was still right next to him and was barely trying to move forward, hell I barely pushed the gas pedal. At the next light I was laughing my butt off.

i also did the same thing, i went from a 4g eclipse gt to my TL and the TL even with 5AT is faster than the 6 speed eclipse plus it has more room and better options

I love when that happens. I've had Mustangs & Celicas next to me stomping it, and all I have to do is push the pedal half way down and I'm still accelerating faster.

...I have a TL-S and have never really raced except recently against a friend's 06 M3 Competition and obviously ate dirt haha...if you want a FAST car Acura is not your dream, even a Range Rover Supercharged could probably take a TL-S from a roll ...if you want to talk "wish"ing lets just say a Carrera 4S is where the power's at, or an R8 on looks

ya i gotta say alot of guys with "SDS" in there massive trucks try to race me all the time. Its pretty funny i just watch them drain the gas

When I had the S/C TL I had different types of cars trying to race me, which I took a couple of losses.... but know that I have a RS4 (which has some stuff done to it) I have them coming up starting to, then back off once they see the model of the Audi...

A while ago I was just cruising home from a 3 hr trip. It was dark, then all of the sudden a 4dr civic SI tailgating me with his blue halogen bulbs. Really distracting lights! But after we have left this town in the middle of nowhere he decided to zoom past me and sped up to about 80 or so miles. Then all of the sudden a undercover car flipped his police lights, did a U turn, drove past me and pulled that guy over. Basically around where i live my 3G is intimidating to some folks

The only few times I raced were against drivers who cut me (bimmer & Explorer to be exact ..) Nice to know what's under the hood & love those engine growl LOL ..

I was on the highway today and was driving along an 04-06 silver TL that was owned but some mom/business woman (jacket was hanging in the back). It's cool to think that these cars aren't just for racers and modding but are also driven by your normal everyday person who has no idea what an A-spec kit is or that there's a TL-S version or that there's a sport shift mode...
