Thanks Everyone! My New 08, 6MT, TL-S.
Well, I finally got my 6 Speed MT TL-S. Please see the pics below.
Before looking at the pictures, I would like to thank ALL of the participating members of this forum. Your posts helped me…
• Pick my tint (30% front, 20% fear and sun roof)
• Install my tint correctly (mole skin & quarter panels)
• Install my Sirius
• Acquire my CAI (AEM)
• Get my 3M clear bra
• And on my first oil change, I will swap my current transmission fluid for the GM stuff that corrects for the 3rd gear issue.
One item I would like to do in the near future, is swap my rotors for slotted and drilled ones. I do not race my car; this would be for appearance only. I would also like to somehow get better looking calipers on the rear breaks, without screwing up the breaking balance.
A few last items…
I’m pretty much a Maguire’s guy when it come to detailing; wax, leather treatment, the whole bit. The wheels have #7 Hi-Tech yellow wax on the chrome. Most of the car is GTX wax on top of #7 Show car glaze. However, the guys who did my bra suggested that I try some Turtle Wax ICE. It dries clear so that it doesn’t leave any white line around the clear bra seams. It works well, so I use it where the bra is.
Well, enough of my typing, here are the pictures. Comments and suggestions are welcome.
Thanks again for all your help; I couldn’t have done it without you!

I am keeping my XM simply for the traffic and LUCY. However I cannot drive without at least some Howard. Hence I had to get it into my new LT.

Thanks for the comments!
I use Mothers on the exhaust tips. Admittedly I could probably do a better job on those.
Thanks for the “no flash” tip on taking pictures, I will remember that one.
With regard to the CAI, please read the post below.

AEM installed it for me. I think it is the same one that goes on the 07, however they did say the installation was as bit different. Now that they have ran the tests and completed an install, I image they will be release a P/N for the 08 very soon.

Thanks for the link. Have you observed any real gains? Would you say the gains are worth the cost? I recently purchased a K&N that I probably won't get installed until my first oil change is due. In the meantime, if I can be convinced it's worth it, I'd gladly consider the CAI. Thanks again for your help. Take good care of that beauty.

When I get it up over 4500 RPMs I can feel and hear it.
I would have purchased one if I could have found someone to install it at a good price. If you can do it yourself I feel it is very much worth it.
I didn't buy this car because I was looking for good gas milage. I purchased this car because I have been driving company cars (4 Runners) for the last 7 years and I wanted something fun to drive (6-speed MT) for a change.

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the forum! Nice job on getting the A-Spec wheels on the Type-S; that makes all the difference in the world as far as the appearance is concerned.

too many hobbies...
I second that!
I have to second that "thanks" comment to this forum.
I picked up my 2007 TL-S KBP 6MT on Dec 8. It was slightly used - 10K miles. I just got the oil changed and had them also replace the tranny fluid with the GM Synchromesh stuff. Then I had the splash guards put on which I got from Hondacuraworld (also discovered through this forum).
The tranny does feel a little smoother with the Synchromesh in there. It was funny 'cause the guy at my shop was like "why go to GM fluid?" I told him that you folks on this forum like it and that's what I want!
This forum is an awesome resource and you guys that take the time to post the detailed technical info deserve a pat on the back.
Although I'm not into modding, just having these little things done (fresh oil, splash guards, tranny fluid) makes the car feel like "mine" now.
