Synthetic Oil and pre owned TL's

I see that some of us have bought a "Used / Pre owned TL's" and I was wondering if and when you bought your car you asked if the previous owner had used Synthetic oils, therefore you should continue as told by my dealer "once you go synthetic don't go back to regular oil....", but how can anyone tell from cars being sold at auctions, etc etc....anyone here asked that question and does it really matter?...

I doubt that it really matters. As long as you use the rating the manufacture says is needed, you should be good. As for synthetic, once you go synthetic, you never go back is just a saying because it lasts longer and "helps" the enviorment. It is just at the preference of the driver in my opinion.

You can switch back and forth every time and it wont matter to the engine

If I just bought a used car, I would Seafoam everything and put in my choice of oils.
Never trust a car that was sold to have been maintained right up to the date- unless private sale from concerned owner.
