Surpassed my expectations

Finally got my WDP/quartz/navi/6mt TL with A-spec suspension on Monday and its much more then I expected. The overall quality of the vehicle is great. Int/ext fit and finish is near perfect. No problems with the paint, headliner, or rattles. The ride quality is great, a balance of being soft and firm, and handling is better then my rsx-s, even on the el-42. EVERYTHING about the car is just plain smooth, especially the clutch and shifter, steering and throttle. It's amazing, like nothing I have ever felt in a car before. Engine is smooth and quiet. Powerful enough, with only 300 miles on it, to make me grin, and I dont even rev pass 4 yet. Extremely comfortable interior, some of the best seats. Very spaciuos, with loads of leg and head room. Dont need to say much about the features and technology, very cool and entertaining. The brakes are nuts, great stopping power yet incredibly soft. I finally know what everyone means when they say the car is a perfect blend of luxury and sport. I do have one problem though and its the marker at 2 on my tach is slightly off in consistency with the rest of the back lit markers. It's brighter and has a break in it or may be a bubble of some sort. Not really a big deal, and overall extremely happy with the car, the only other problem may be that there wont be very many cars I will enjoy driving anymore now that I comapre them to the TL.

My tach at 2 has a similar issue, it is a shade dimmer than the rest. Funny!

winstrolvtec,

Did you have to order that car, or did your dealer have it on the lot? If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get for and from what dealer?

Oh, and congrats on the excellent choice!

RyTyGuy,

I got the car at Heart Acura in Wappinger Falls, about an hour and 15 from the city. I placed an order for a hpt model in March, they placed that order in April. Problem was that the factory needs at least 60 allocations to process them. The factory rejected the order twice because they never reached that 60 mark. Now had I ordered the car minus hpt I would have got it sooner, believe it or not there are not many navi/6/hpt in white. The dealer finally gave up on ordering becuase now it would take too long and tried to swap the only wdp/quartz/navi /6 coming to the whole tri-state area, probably the very last one for 04, but it was spoken for. After that I ordered the 05. Couple of days later the car is available and they swaped it in from somewhere in NJ. I paid 33,445 and got deck lid and a-spec suspension installed for 1200. I still have an 05 on order, due in four weeks if you are interested, im sure the dealer would work something out, otherwise it will most likely be canceled.

winstrolvtec,

Thanks for the info. I am familiar with Heart Acrua, my girlfriend lives in Millbrook, and when we go to the Galleria, I usually ask to to Heart as well to take a look.

Do you think you got the car at that price due to Heart's/Acura's Factory inempt ability to fulfill your order? Or was that the negotiated price right from the get-go? How was your overall experience with Heart?

Sorry for all the questions, I am new to the car buying process, and being very analytical about every piece of the project.

RytyGuy,

They gave me that price back in February when I was only interested in checking it out. Other then the wait I am very happy with heart as always. I have shopped lots of acura dealers in the NY area and they are where I bring my business. If you have any further questions send a PM.

My TL has the exact same problem. Any thoughts on what to to about this issue? I'm not sure if I want the dealer to tear apart my entire gauge cluster so that they can resolve this problem. They might just make it worse.
