There was a supercharger for the 2nd gen. If you think people complain about torque steer now! I believe it pumped about another 50 ponies. The car converted most of that power into wheel smoke but once it launched it pulled like a banshee! I really feel the TL is probably has as much power as you'll ever want in FWD car.

the last gen supercharger put 35-40 hp. i think that the car could handle it considering some 2nd gens probably put out over 300 hp and it works for them

Are you mad? You can never have too much power, NEVER! Regardless of FW or RW. We're men, therefore Power Mongers!

LOL!!!

I'm wondering how they're going to do it on pump gas. 11:1 and power adders just don't mix on pump gas.

People didnt want to SC there 2nd gen because of the tranny issue... I think SC sales would be up for 3rd gen because of the better tranny...

Keep in mind who their (Acura) target audience was for the 1st and 2nd Gen TL considering the price and design. I personally was looming on the 2nd Gen, but decided to wait (I didn't like the limited headroom).

IMHO, Comptech did not do very good on pushing (read PR) the kit either. They did better with the Teg's and S2000 products.

I think Vortech's biggest gain in the import market was their rep who frequented the message boards and go the info out their. I don't recall a time Comptech did such a thing. I guess they're too good for it.

Oh and Skeedatl... retard... the timing that is. Higher compression? Retard the timing for the power adder. Won't be much on the PSI side, but will help.

You gotta believe man, you gotta!

called - they said that the headers couldn't be possible because they're welded into the exhaust manifold(?), he said he imagines the intake to be out in 3-4 months, and the exhaust to be available in less than a month and a half.

I guess Comptech did not read the Car and Driver review of their own car, too much power going to the wrong wheels.

You cannot have headers in this vehicle. The exhaust manifold is for all intents part of the engine; the manifold is cast into the engine block.

Sorry, no performance boosters there.

If they make a exhaust they should make headers to go with it... Has anyone looked under the car to see if that is true...

I'm sure you will have to run 93, but remember comptech SC is only 6psi.

absolutely nothing -- Acura didn't want anymore aftermarket options, hence they restricted the headers too...

Yes, retard the timing should help, but as far as I know, unlike in the old days, you can't adjust timing manually with most newer cars, including the TL, the only way is to change the ECU. Am I correct on this? If anyone knows a way to adjust, please let me know. Thanks.
