shops around me charge $65-$85/hr for labor ...sometimes a bit more if its custom work

And this is a place where he local professional athletes and celebs go, so they do very good work

painted. but the junk rubs off after some time... if its had proper dry time and if it was blown by mouth or by gun also depends on how long itll last paint cans last about a year - 2 yrs....by mouth n gun like 4 yrs..... used car dealers love making cars look like they just came off the showroom floor...i especially look for that in any car if i go looking for one for someone

Oh shit got its name from when drivers make sharp turns and you say "Oh Shit" and grab the handle so you don't slide across the car.

Also suiting when you're about to get into a front end collision

to tell you the truth i couldn't tell you..this add-on came with the car. I wish I knew because so many people have asked me. The guy was old and sounded like a BS'er and had said it cost $2500. I don't think it cost that much although the quality is really good.

This is an old thread, but I'm trying to do my headliner in Alcantara right now. I'm having a hard time getting the sunroof slide out. I read it slides out through the back once the headliner is removed, from what I can see, that's not possible. Can someone who has done this please help! Thanks

When I did this, I removed it with brute force via bending and twisting. It's made of a fiberglass composite, so it's tough as all hell.

Now, here's how you remove it: Fully open the sunroof. You'll see two plates with really small countersunk screws - 2 per side. Remove these screws and the plates. You'll now be able to slide the sunroof cover up and out of these channels.

Reinstallation? Good luck. It took me about 5 frustrating days until I just cut the rear bumpstop to slide it back in. Easily the most PITA thing I have to deal with in my modification trail, and those that have also done this in the past have also laid claim to this being the hardest part of the install. While this won't effect anything in terms of fit, the sunroof cover will not automatically open and close with the sunroof - it's now done manually. I don't know of the proper way to get it back in, if I could do it all over, I could note the original positions of the bumpstops in the track and figure it out, but like I said, I brute forced it out.

The sunvisors are pretty simply, they split in half and then you use an epoxy or whatever to reseal them. Just keep in mind the position of the contactors when you're resealing everything.

Anyone ever think of ordering Type-S pillars, "oh shit" handles, and visors instead when they do this? They're black. I think it'd be easier and might look cleaner.

I was looking into doing the type-s headliner but the parts car was covered in snow and they couldn't check if it was black or not. Are they all black? They also wanted 250$ (much higher than what the guy originally told me) but I am saving up for the tires so can't spend the money now. Will look into it this summer though, it could be a nice project

maybe it looks like that in that tan photo because of how the nap has been pushed around with fingers and hands "feeling it". I looks quite a bit better in person if the nap is pushed one way, and of course it isn't shiny.

I wouldn't say ass, but I'm not sold on the idea either. The only one I've liked so far is the 7 that csmeance posted pictures of. I prefer the stock headliners in the TL.

I am not too happy about the suede headliner, I never seen it in person and in the pictures I am not liking that look of it when its all shiny when touched. If I re-wrap it i would go with a black material but stock looking

The tan suede, yes. Doesn't go with the TL's style at all.

dDoes anyone know the dimensions on the inside of the roof (in terms of how much material is needed)? I would go measure myself, but I'm at my dads and don't have my car with me. booo

So I really, really hate the grey headliner in my ebony interior, so desperately wanna do this. I hear that if you are an amateur in removing the headliner, there is a good chance you will do it incorrectly, and you will not be able to reinstall it to the car. Any advice or insight to this? Also, can you explain how to cover the sun visors/mirrors? And you also covered the seat? That must look cool!
