My car is an 05 NBP auto and is rattle free. Nada none. I do have a resonance on deepr base notes even at a low volume setting. I did a search which talks about rear deck rattles. TO me a rattle is something you get when you go over a bump etc. Clearly something back there is improperly damped and it is resonating with the deeper base notes. Is this what you guys are referring to as the rear deck rattle? Any body else have this specific problem and suggestions for fixing it.

 

This probably doesn't apply to your situation but for me, the "sub rattle / resonance" is coming from the rubber cover for the third brake light on the rear window. Everytime I play a song with deep heavy bass the thin rubber cover rattles against the rear window. I have yet to find something that will completely stop it from rattling.

This rattle and a minor idle vibration are the only things that keep my TL from being the perfect car.

 

Take your car to the dealer, there is a bulletin for decklid rattles now.
They have to fix it.
