Wow, that's very concerning. Very sorry to hear about your car getting stripped. Hopefully you had insurance to cover the damages. Good luck moving forward!

If they have a hookup at a dealership I'm sure they can get the code. I wonder if Honda has a database of stolen nav/radio units.

technically they will not cover it because it is not part of your car, it is an accessory so it would be covered under home owners insurance. Also for all of you with after market parts, my friend had his sti stolen with about 30k worth of parts and they replaced the car to stock since he did not notify the insurance of the upgrades, because your insurance goes up accordingly to what you have done so if it does get stolen they will replace and if not...your screwed.

I would keep an eye in the Black Market here too. Recently, a member had their wheels stolen and it showed up in the Black Market.

Indeed but it seems like the motive of the theft was not to resell the parts but for personal use as they left the Wii system in the trunk rather than grabbing that as well while he/she/they were at it.

If I could ever find the guys who stole the wheels on my RX I would fill their cars with vinegar & dog shit. Professional thieves like those deserve much worse..

wow man, this is worrying me! What my buddy melvin said is true, and possibly the owner of that white 3g could be working at pohanka of acura, but we are not sure of that yet. I'm getting worried because i'm actually deployed right now. My motorcycle was stolen in oct right infront of my apartment building door, and i just can't deal with my tl being stripped i will just cry!

The "secured" parking lot that I usually park in had 6 or 7 cars broken into a couple months ago, but those thieves were after the portable navigation units. (this was in Bethesda too)
Which parking lot?

I have photos, but don't know how to post them. I spoke to the insurance adjustor and they are still waiting to hear back from the dealership with costs of a few things including the wiring that was cut to remove the trunk. Apparently the wiring was from for the trunk release, back up video camera, lights etc. Apparently they will have to take apart the car to put in all new wiring all the way up to the front of the car. I have nationwide insurance and pay for the maximum coverage in every category and thought about lowering everything b/c i have never had an accident etc. But I am glad I didn't. Insurance is paying for my loaner cars through enterprise. I am on my third loaner car in three days. I just picked up a white 2009 Jeep Wrangler b/c it is suppose to snow in the DC area tomorrow. There are only 2 cameras in the garage only on the entrance on the first level. I watched the footage in the leasing office, and honestly it is the worst surveillance footage I have ever seen. I can’t decide if a car is green, blue or maroon. I can’t tell if a car is a corolla, mercury mystique or a ford contour. Santa Fe’s look the same as CRV’s. They are terrible.
Anyways Nationwide insurance which I have total the car once it reaches 75% of the worth of the car. She guessed we were @60% and said it didn’t look good.
P.S. Someone tell me the easiest way to post photos. I want to share my custom V1 install with the V1 installed in the rear break light housing and my V1 display laser cut into my rear view one. I may be willing to sell the mirror etc if the price is right.

if someone starts parking a TL in the same garage you know its going to be a bit fishy.....people buy wrecked cars and steal the parts they need to fix it...
when i used to work at a body shop, people bought wrecked cars and came to the shop with different color parts.....this guy bought a SRT-8 charger with front end damage... the next morning, he had a red hood, two red fenders and a red front bumper...

Wow, Bethesda, Rockville -King Farm, I wouldn't expect that to be an issue. I'll say this. I work at a dealer in the area around the King Farm community located in Rockville, MD and we have had on numerous occasions wheels stolen from cars on our lot. Montgomery County, Maryland didn't use to be so crime riddled, but with the increase of the population, crime goes up too.
I'm sorry to hear about your TL and hope your able to get it back to normal. Anyone have any ideas on how to keep our rides safe from theives parting it out?

My 1999 Civic EX coupe was stolen out of my driveway not TWO WEEKS after buying my TSX. It was never recovered (cops really didn't seem to give a damn, took them 5 hours to come to my house).
If it happened before I bought the TSX I wouldn't be driving a Honda/Acura. As our cars get cheaper thanks to depreciation, more common folk will be driving them, and as they need replacements more cars will be stolen/stripped.

I just use a anti theft device via anything but viper or any alarm that just makes music that no one really cares about. As far as being parted out, don't brag about what you own - its a shopping list to thefts. I actually seen a special on most dangerous alarm systems and one person had a flame thrower that would shoot up under his side skirt if the car was being broken into. Another had a LCD display that came to view when the license plate slide over and displayed this car is stolen, call the police. It sucks that our insurance companies are just here to rip us off, my friends WRX with MOST work into it was stolen and they didn't put a radio back in and didn't replace his headliner that had cigarette burns in it nor did they compensate him on the body work that was damaged. This whole world revolves around money and its sad. Why do you think cops don't care about a stolen car - its not theirs or finding it does nothing for them or the town. Finding someone who stole a candy bar will give the township money in court fees and lawyers so they would love to find them. This town in NJ many of you may of heard of it called east orange where my friends car that was stolen and found their police department had their own stolen car department. They have a separate lot for all of the cars. On average I think they said like 5 a day in that town, the only way you will get your car back if you find it or the thieves turn themselves in. Just the other day my car got hit and a small mark on my bumper and I had some feeling about the car behind me so I took pictures and occasionally looked out my friends window to see all the cars that were parked behind me and it was just that car. I come out to see that mark - call police and tell them to look up X license plate and you will find the car that hit and ran. OF COURSE they didn't and said just call your insurance company. SO INSEAD OF THE PROTECTOR OF THE PUBLIC HELPING ME, I got hurt because I had to pay my deductible to get it fixed and that prick got away. BTW there was no where else to park, I was late and It was literally the safest out of all the parking spots.

STATUS UPDATE: The estimate came in at $15,802. They are going to fix her back up. Here are a few photos
Below is a photo of rear view mirror with Valentine One (V1) etched into the glass. This was taken before I installed it. It is currently still in my whip which is at the autobody shop.
