Strange Thud - Slipping Trans ??? '07 TL 304k miles.
Sup all! Back again with another mystery issue. 2007 TL Base, 304k miles. Lab analysis on engine oil and trans fluid came back with nothing out of the ordinary. Got that done about 5,000 miles ago.
So, when I am accelerating from a dead stop, especially on a hill, I will feel a "thud" with no loss in drive train power. To me, it feels like whatever piece is transferring power from the engine to transmission is slipping, literally, and rotating until it catches. It just started about 1,000 miles ago. Almost never does it when starting flat.
Am I looking at a whole new transmission, finally, after 115,000 miles and six years lmfao? If it is the trans needing replacement do ya'll think I could get another 10 to 20 thousand miles out of it?
