Is the stock suspension considered a "sport" suspension

i.e. ... is the stock '04 TL suspension analogous to the TL Type S suspension, or more similar to the TL-P suspension?

I feel like this car has much more body roll in turns than my Type S did and considerably more of a floaty feeling over dips on the highway ...

For those w/ the A-spec suspension that have driven the Type S .. is it similar?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I had an '01 CL (base type, type P, whatever) and I would say the suspension in that car and the one in my '04 TL are very comparable.

I agree with Gator. I still have my 2002 Type S. I took an '04 out the other day. I didnt' notice any real difference in the suspension. In fact I think the '04 has less body roll than the Type S.

I think it's a matter of perspective.

Compared to my '00 RL and '03 Odyssey, the '04 TL handles like a Porsche.

I guess I need to drive an A-spec TL and see what I'm missing, eh?

The acura TL is NOT a sports suspension. I don't have confidence in the car taking the twisties hard.

No, 04TL's is not "sport" one, but it is a little stiffer than other cars.

I didn't really have that much confidence going into turns w/ my Type S either .. but it seemed stiffer in turns

compared against my 3 series its not a sports suspension. the ride is a lot softer, it's not like a camry or maxima and definitely has a more sportier feel but i would not consider it a sports suspension. usually a sports suspension is stiffer and the rebound rate on the shocks are quicker. when this car hits a bump it will take a couple of bounces before it levels. with a sports suspension the car should bounce back almost immediately. but to me this is a good thing, if you drive in nyc with all these crappy roads, your butt will be soar form driving.

What is your definition of sport???

It is more like the type S suspension.....actually it should be more stiff than the type S according to acura. I think they increase the damping rate by 10%

Anyways.....as far as the 04 6MT....it does have less body roll than any other TL, since it comes with thicker and bigger sway bars.

All TL/CL models from 99 to 03 you would have to pay about $300 (aftermarket) to get the same swaybars you get with the 04 6MT (only 6MT) to reduce body roll
