Steam Coming From Engine After Turning Off / Cold Weather
Hey All,
Today my co-worker noticed that my car (2007 TL) had some steam coming from the engine after I turned it off. My car ride is about 40 minutes and the outside temperature is in the high 20s low 30s this morning.
I have had my car in this climate for multiple years and this is the first time I have seen steam coming after turning it off.
I just had an oil change about 400 miles ago and they did mention that my head gaskets will need to be replaced in the next 10k miles.
The car isn't overheating and the heat is working just fine.
Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks

If safe to do so, pop the hood and see if you can narrow down where it is coming from.

No obvious smells that I can tell.
I am going to open the hood and check when I get home tonight.
If it was a leaking gasket I imagine it would be smoke not steam.
Thanks

Depends on what the fluid is and where it's leaking from and onto what. i.e. - coolant likely would steam, oil would likely smoke. Keep us posted.
