starting the TL-S (auto vs 6spd)

a few weeks ago, my friend who also has a TL-S auto showed me that when he starts the car, all he has to do is put the key in, turn it and let go really quick then the engline will start up. i found that strange but amazing

then i tried it do the same thing with my 6pd but it doesnt work like that and i have to crank and wait till the engine's started before i let go. anyone know why is that? or am i asking an obvious question?

I think I know what u are talkin about..First you gotta engage the clutch, then put the key in ignition, and turn the car on real quick and let go..I guess u can say it works..but u still gotta give it a sec or two to fire up the engine.. I do that sometimes too, but not purposely. I feel bad sometimes tho because its kinda harsh on the ignition and my switchblade key.

6spd like yours..I understand that the auto dont gotta wait cause its an auto..but u know, manual is totally diffrent cuz u gotta engage clutch first..so it usually takes a sec longer.

^ I would, I can't drive a 6MT well, and the traffic I drive though would kill my left leg, clutch in, clutch out, clutch in out, every 6 inches of movement.

it just takes practice, my mom taught me on a hill when I was 15 hahaha, she is crazy! I do agree that a MT does suck to drive in traffic tho - my TL is auto but I have an accord that it MT, if I know I will be in traffic or in the city I will not drive the accord!

I can drive a MT, I'm not just that great with it, just a bit jerky at times... Mind you I learned to drive MT in india, I drove an MT here 1 or two times, but not in the last year or so...

Yep, I just start to turn the key and let it go on my 08 TL-S. Starts right up and saves the starter. Nice feature.
