Starter Trouble, Please Give Advice

Starter Trouble, Please Give Advice
I have been having some trouble when starting my 04 TL. It's funny because it is not usually the first time I drive the car for the day, it is after I park it. It's real weird. I turn the key all the way and hold it and it takes a long while for the car to turn over. Anyone else having this problem? Maybe I have a bad starter. Any advice/help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

From what I've been told, this is completely normal because Acura is trying to give you the best fuel efficiency that they can...I asked the dealer about this because it happens in my car as well...starter is fine...just that to get more fuel efficiency, this happens on the acura...

No, I never have this problem. Granted, there are times when it might crank a little longer (seconds at best), but never what I would consider to be a problem.

It sounds abnormal to me. In 4000 miles my TL hasn't taken more than 1 or 2 seconds to start. Of course, my car is garaged at night and has not been subjected to sub-freezing temperatures, which may make a difference.

i have this problem big time, car turns over really hard in the morning, then the car shakes during cold idle.
there was once the car didnt even start, but after the second crank it started and then stalled, then i cranked again and it was fine.
i didnt say anything to acura because i remember readin that it was normal, and it may take up to 10 seconds to crank.

producrdel, I'd personally like to know a little more about how you usually start your car.
After inserting the key, do you crank it all the way quickly and start your car? Or, you stop at Ignition II for a few seconds (3, 5, or 10 seconds), then crank it?
Thanks.

procrudel, if I hear you correctly you are turning the key all the way. If you are doing that and it takes a "long while" for the starter to start turning the engine over, then I would say you have a problem and you should call your dealer. If you turn the key all the way and you hear the starter turning the engine over, but it still takes a "long while" for the engine to start, then I have to ask you what do you mean by a "long while"? If it is a second or two, I wouldn't be too concerned. Any longer than 3-5 seconds or so, and I would probably mention it to the dealer.

OKay thanks for your advice guys. Rets I dont usually stop at II I usually go right for the start. I went to the dealer today, they said nothing is wrong. They said that the starting and rotten egg smell is from the gases being produced by manufacturers reacting with the low emissions system in the TL. Sound like a real answer to you guys? The guy was nice and assured me that they have had many other cars in there with this same exact problem. Let me know what you guys think.
