Stains on the ceiling

I have Parchment interior so stains easily appear on the fabric. My cieling has brown spots scattered in the front area of my cars cieling. In the rear pillars there are black smuges. Don't know how does got there. What is the best solution to clean up those stains without damaging the color of the parchment cieling and pillars? thanks

I was a bit afraid to open this thread...

Ok, this is probably totally naive but I'd go to a dry cleaners and ask them for advice.

Sounds like a coke can exploded in the car while it was parked. Take it to a detail and see if they can do anything with it. I don't know what will take those stains out.

it's not going to be easy
but i've done it myself after technicians at the dealer messed it up with oily finger prints

keep in mind that pillars are easier to clean because you don't need to worry about them coming unglued
at least not as much as with the headliner (don't rub it too much while cleaning)

here's what i did:
tools and materials - blue coral Dri-Clean (upholstery and carpet cleaner), SOFT toothbrush (old-style, simple, flat, long), a hair-dryer

rocedure
first make sure you can't simply brush it off with the dry toothbrush! (sometimes it works)
if not:
1) spray the cleaned into a small cup, make sure it creates a lot of foam
2) pick some of the foam (not the liquid) up with the toothbrush and work into the dirty area, work on one small area at a time
3) after you've managed to clean the dirt dry the surface with a hair-dryer (don't let dry naturally it'll leave more noticable "wet" spots)
4) when you're done with a big area wash the toothbrush, dry it and work lightly around the areas you've cleaned, it'll help "comb" the fibers to blend the cleaned area with the surroundings and brush out the rest of the dirt particles

hope that helps!
