SSM for a day
I had my car ('04 ABP TL) in for a minor repair this week, and had an SSM '04 TL loaner for the day - identical to mine except for the colors. It had over 16000 miles on it vs. the 7200 that are on mine. My impressions:
- Leather (ebony) still looked fine to me. No butt prints or cracking.
- Transmission felt fine too.
- No nasty rattles to speak of, and the headliner was in place.
- It had the EL42s, and their characteristic shimmy and vague feel. Really made me appreciate my Pilot Sport A/S's anew.
- The ABP definitely looks cooler in the garage.

I had a '04 TL (8/04 build) loaner for a day when my '05 was in the dealer. It didn't have the Navi. I really missed the easier/more informative display in my car. My biggest problem was the dreaded three passenger problem. Driving to lunch with 4 coworkers (three in the back) on the highway at ~70 mph every time we'd hit a seem in the road it felt like the back end was coming loose. The first time it happened everyone in the car got a fearful look in their eyes and yelled out "what the hell?". Fortunately my car doesn't exhibit this problem. I'd love to see how Honda could explain that this little issue isn't a safety issue.
