Is there a tutorial on how to use the sport shift on a 2008 base acura TL? I know it doesnt make the car faster in terms of 0 to 60, but at higher speeds, if I keep it at a certain gear and then shift up, I heard its faster. Lol i am very new to this I know i probably sound like an idiot. But I really want to learn how to use it. When do you know when to shift up or shift down? And is there any way I can screw up my car using it? Thanks guys!

Manual Transmission

Turn the VSA Off.

If you want to use Sport Shift on a TL 5AT here are the shifting points:

1st: 0-45
2nd: 45-70
3rd: 70-111
4th: 111-150 drag limited
5th: 150 drag limited


But you gotta shift a way ahead of time cause the delay time on the shifter is long. Ya gotta calculate how much time it takes to shift into next gear. But at least you'll know where each gear is worth in speeds.

For you you're lucky cause you have the standard trim 5AT so your top speed will be at 150 or +. If any of you own the Type-S 5AT and want high speed then you are f#@ked..... the car is limited at 133 mph and will not accelerate any higher.

I wouldn't even want to go those speeds...just not worth it. Been there before a couple times(155mph) but that was enough

To use sport shift you will probly never get out of 3rd unless you done going fast and want to just up shift to lower your rpms.

If you want to down shift just left off the gas and click down. To upshift all you have to do is keep on the gas as if normally driving and upshift. Just be sure that when you down shift you know how high the rpms will be. You will quickly get the hang of when you need to shift
