a spec suspension for $850?

I got a quote for the a spec suspension for my 04 TL. They want $850 just for it and it does not include install. Install would roughly be around $100-300.... estimate....

but I wanted to confirm before i buy it. Is that a reasonable price...$850?

I was quoted at $800 by my local Acura dealership. He said he could come down on the price.

Many dealers won't sell it without the wheels as it's supposed to be the "A-Spec Suspension Package". They can order it alone as a "replacement".

Check ebay as a couple dealers are asking about $1800 wheels AND suspension. If you figure the suspension is $800--then they're selling the wheels for $250 each. And that's for the gunmetal 8.5" wide wheels.

...also check out the groupbuy some members are trying to organize through hondaacuraworld. A-Spec suspensions are supposed to be avallable to them in March.

I got mine a while back for $700 from Acura of Las Vegas, but it looks like they're selling it for $800 now.

Paid $100 for a local shop to install.

Aspec is nice but the drop is not that much different from stock. For the same money you can get a 1.3-1.5 inch drop and it will really look sharp. Just about everyone on here that has the aspec wishes it was lower.

3/4" with A-Spec.

More drop = lower center of gravity = more performance (generally).

A year ago or so, the suspension only kits were in the $650 range. Then they disappeared because dealers were stuck with tons of wheels.

I should have jumped on it then......

Now I think I'll spend a couple hundred more for Tein SS's so I get adjustable drop and ride.

3/4 inch is the most you are going to get. It's not going to matter if the car is dropped another 1/2 inch in the snow. I think you will be dissapointed with the results.

If all you want is performance, you won't be disappointed with the ASPEC. If you want to lower the car more than 3/4 of an inch, you will be disappointed.

yea i got mine from las vegas a year ago for 750 delivered. im not 100% that satisfied with it because i like the way the car sat on the s tech springs....... low lowwww. the handling is great but the car feels wacky when u lets say climb up a driveway one wheel at a time....the flexing of the car feels totally diff from the way the stocks felt. other than that i cant complain.

Acura Woodbine (based in Canada) had it for $600 roughly....but without tax or labour yet.

www.acurawoodbine.com

see if you can still order or if they have stock left.

Also, you could just wait till the 09 TLs come out and then chances are the 04-08 TL accessory prices will be slashed alot...

I'm waiting for that to happen to get a front lip and rear lip spoiler. =)

+1, the Aspec suspension and a new RSB, made my TL what I wanted it to be in the first place.

I agree. I've had my aspec suspension+comptech RSB for over a year now and I've been satisfied with it since.

But then again, I didn't do it for the drop look. So, it really depends on what you're gonig for.

Im so shocked that there are so many people that are so hung up on the ASPEC suspension for that kind of price. I defenitely would undertsand if it was a lower price but those prices are so close to better quality full coilover systems such as the TEINS.

I have installed the TEIN SS and I'm riding with 19's and I couldnt be much happier! I haven't noticed a difference in ride quality from riding with stock 17's and stock suspension that is how good the TEINS are for me. And it gives me more modability, better quality. and drops the car better. To me its a no brainer.

However I do realize the positives goign with ASPEC since you have the comfort of knowing you're not voiding any warranties and you will be fully covered so I can see that but still, the chances of anythign happening on our cars are very rare.

I shouldn't say that but if you are looking for a lower stance the aspec is not going to do it. It will handle better than stock but the car belongs a little lower. I just put the H&R sport springs in my car with the stock struts and the ride is great. Better than stock and it looks like an aggressive four door sedan. I drive my car all over 1000 miles a week at least so ride quality is a must and I love the ride with those springs. Just trying to help you out before you spend all that hard earned cash.

You are getting a lot of responses from folks that do not live in snow country and are primarily interested in the drop. I personally would not go any lower than A Spec. Even with a drop of less than an inch you increase the chances of packing your wheel wells with snow. There needs to be enough clearance to allow for some snow build up.
