Sooooo I wrecked my car.....

I was driving on a two lane road that was brought down to one lane due to construction. I was stopped in traffic right in front of an exit to k-mart. I was blocking the guy from pulling out of k-marts parking lot... I made eye contact with him and then thought to myself I should do the right thing and make room for him so he can pull out.. So I thought i could pull up to the bumper of the truck in front of me....Well the truck in front of me had a hitch that stood out maybe a foot.

nahh no conversion... I got really lucky

1) No damage to the truck in front of me
2) Did not want to call the cops
3) He said he was sorry that I hit his car?
4) My car isnt that bad, bumper and grill
5) My headlights didnt get damaged
6) Last but not least NO ONE GOT HURT!

My deductable is 500 bucks, I was able to get an oem bumper for 219 shipped, and a grill for 60 bucks

I agree with you, you should just pay out of pocket to fix it. Your rates will go up if you claim it!
And thats what you get for being a nice guy! :-)

damn when I read "wrecked" all I thought was another TL bit the dust. Recently, members' TLs have been totaled left and right, as if someone is trying to tell us something.

At least it's relatively cheap and you'll have a freshly painted front bumper. I would get 3m clear bra too!

Ouch that sucks! You may need the absorber once you take the cover off. but you need the cover, grille insert, grille molding, and it looks like the center grille trim is scratched as well... you could always just have that part painted for a clean look! Sad to see a AM wrecked! But agree get a clear bra but you have to wait 2-3 months before you can have that put on new paint!

After the wreck, the driver of the truck I rear-ened got out of his before I did... he took one look at my front bumper and cringed, and make a face as if my car was smashed... before I even looked at my car he told me sorry.... from his facial expression I thought my car was completly fucked up.... bumper gets here early next week and she'll be in the body shop shortly after.... thinking of painting my grill the same color as my wheels....

Could that be because his hitch extended out too far, beyond legal limits, so he would be at fault for the damage?

G/L!

It is illegal to drive with your ball receiver in your hitch in most states... maybe he knew that! But you still would have been at fault!

True, but if you tell the body shop that you plan on adding clear bra they can bake the paint extra to reduce the wait time before installing the clear bra.

@ thread title. Honestly the farthest thing from a wreck I've seen.

But some good may come out of it. Didn't you want to repaint your Aspec front anyways?
