Angry Someone dinged my car!

I've got a NBP type s and was coming out of class and noticed that someone had hit the passenger door with their door. Now I've got a 1/4inch diameter ding there. Is there anyway to remove it? Paintless dent repair? If so how much would it cost roughly. I feel like it's hindering the apperance of my car since it is only 2 and half months old.

Guess I'll be making the type s my weekend car and take the other car to busy locations.

I normally do park far, but at the campus the parking lot is always packed so your lucky if you find a spot on campus.

I'll try posting pictures up as soon as I get home. Thanks for you reply.

sorry to hear that..

I'm one of those dicks that if the spot is too tight, I will park for two, or just park a block away...I don't mind walking, it's cheaper than fixing a dent.

Repainting my WDP TL-S bumper set me back $1K last week, I'll walk.

Sorry to hear that. I got a ding about that size too about after 2 months of ownership even though I only park in large stalls. Some people are just inconsiderate. My brother had 2 dings removed from his Maxima for $150 at a Nissan dealership. They did a wonderful job. You can't even tell where the dents were. I think the method used was not invasive at all.

you are in brooklyn and you dare take two spots?

don't people will key your car like there was no tomorrow if you do that?

anyways, that's why i never take my car to the crowded places.

I've always made fun of those people who park their brand-new car away from everyone. Now that I am a proud owner of 2008 TL-S, I find myself doing the same thing. I'm such a hypocrite.

Sorry to hear about the dings. Hope someone can fix it up for you.

dry ice or air duster turned upside down + blow dryer ftw...

That is ONLY if the dent is rounded, not a crease.

I usually park away from everyone, but If I see that my doors will be dinged , I will park with authority....But again, I do try to avoid any such situations. I especially avoid parking cars where people pull in like asses, with their wheel turned out. I try to park between more expensive cars.

And I don't recommend keying my car, I will key your ass.

Sorry to hear about the ding. I had my car for 3 years not and got two very minor dings in the last two weeks. Don't know what it is but it just takes something away from the car. I may get it repaired along with the few chips I've accumulated on my bumber and hood over the years.

The only fight my ex gf and I ever got into was over her opening the door of her Volvo into my old STi and giving me a door ding. I almost punched her in the groin haha!

Sucks bud. Yea do a search for the dry ice method, it might work for you.

That's humorous. Most folks call that "parking like an as hole" as well...
It just begs for negative attention. But we all have done it. I tend to look at it logically. Parking is what it is, and given a lack of real estate, spaces between the lines are getting smaller. As you mentioned, the best you can do is try to avoid the tight spaces and park between or next to nicer vehicles. No guarantee yet it helps.

As for the OPs issue - forget the dry ice routine. Unless you have experience you will most likely make it worse. Contact a good PDR shop and have it done right the first time. As for price, in Dallas its about 80 for the visit and 40 per dent by the guys that I have used. Thus a $120 repair call performed in my driveway/garage etc..
As long as they can get behind the dent with their tools - all should look like new.

Best of luck

You paid a grand to have just the bumper painted?

I didn't go into details, I got rear-ended....cracked bumper, bent exhaust....

Still fuming about this hit and & run. The WDP paint is exclusive to Global, and as a 3-stage paint it is very very expensive. (and tedious to match)

No doubt, 3-stage paint is pricey! My Lexus had a 3 stage white paint job and when it was totalled the paint damage on 4 panels alone was probably more than half the repair cost. I had two panels repainted when a deer hit me and I think it was like $3,000+
