Some Headlight help please :-)

So Im redoing my headlights so they can come out better this time. I tried using search and it doesnt work at all, idk what AZ did to it. So my questions are:
1. How do I remove the foreground limiter? (I dont wanna break off the wrong piece because idk which one it is) A picture would be great if somebody has it.

2. The ZKW lenses just go in the same way I took out the TL projectors right? As in, it doesnt have to be in a certain position does it?

Thanks

1. Are you sure you want to remove the foreground limiter? It supposedly decreases output. I don't know how much. I'll have to see if I can find the thread on HIDplanet.

2. It depends if you are getting the Real ZKW lenses, or the Replicas from TRFS. If you have the real ones I've been told to put the notch in the 6 O'clock postion, and spaced. With the ZKW Replicas. They are made to drop right into your your headlights. You can tweak them to get a sharper cutoff and some more color, by shield bending, I would also recommend using a spacer. Just cut out a ring from a cereal box for the spacer.

This is what my cut-off looked like with just dropping the lens in, no spacing, shield bending, nothing.

These are the replicas. I was told by Matt, he's the owner of The Retrofit Source that makes these lenses. He said you may need to do some shield bending, and or adding spacers to get the crisp sharp cut-off. I should have messed around with them before sealing them up, but I was getting impatient and just wanted the lights back on my car.

Back from the dead, so do real zkw lenses have to be positioned a certain way and any modding needed?

I've read the best position with the real ZKW lenses is to point the notch at the 6 o'clock position. Their is slight modding, I think the only thing you need to do is lens spacing, and or a slight shield bend.
