Sold My TL
Hi People,
Today, I sold my Acura TL. After owning it for almost 5 years, it was time to let it go. The car had about 66k miles on it and it was literally babied to the max. It was the best car I have ever owned so far and it treated me right for a good 4 years.
The car had Comptech Supercharger on, full catback exhuast, custom intake, UR crank pulley and Rotora BBK along with type S Rims.
The car ran a good 13.8 (not a good 1/4 mile driver) at the track back in 2006. I only took it there once with a few buddies of mine. I drove the car daily, 60 miles each way to work and back. I never really beat up on it unless when I felt like it on open road on sunday mornings. I went through a belt, and a battery. Changed up the pullies and that was about it.
When I sold it, I actually looked back a few times before I walked away. I will forever remember the 2004 3G Acura TL that had everything I ever needed.
Acura are great cars, regardless what people say, I realized the more you read up on PROBLEMS AND FIXES section, the more paranoid you get on cars.lol....
Although I no longer have the Acura TL, I will still be on the forum hanging out and enjoy helping out and reading up some interesting facts. Maybe next fall I will get a 6MT SH-AWD TL![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Greg, thanks for everything, you are one cool dude. We will still stay in touch buddy.

I was among one of the first dudes to have a supercharger. I just never signed on the forum but rather lurked. I would only read the forum when I needed to find info. Your ride is by far the nicest, I enjoy reading your post and will continue to

I don't care what people say about 3G tranny, mine was as solid as a rock. It shifted smooth and I had nothing but REDLINE ATF in there. I would highly recommend those who have 5AT to change your tranny fluid often, I found changing it at every 9k was worth it, it only cost me $42 each change.
I sold the car for $16,000. Yes after all the work I put on, I sold it for only that much. I figured it is a good market value and I got tired of people calling and test driving it and trying to give me "why are you selling it? problems?" or being all skeptical about it because it has been heavily modified.
I sold it to a friend of a friend who was looking for a FI car. Of all the problems I posted on problem and fixes, it turns out to be tiny bitsy problems (belts, pulley, battery.)
The car was done on what only needs to be done to meet performance aspect. BBK, blower, crank pulley, intake mod, full catback.
Why did I sell it? I drive 120 miles a day to work and although the TL can do that on daily basis. I think it was time for me to get something more practical. Some less and something "MANUAL TRAN." I feel like when I am in the TL, I care too much about dings, weather, and all sorts of paranoia.
I think I will get an accord sedan 5MT and just drive it normally. In about 5 years, I will get a vette when I am in my midlife crisis lol...

Sorry you had to let the TL go. Especially with those mods. Nothing wrong with a Honda. Also great cars and you'll enjoy the 5MT. Of course that Vette (when you hit your middle age crisis) is sweet as well
. Hope you find the Honda you want and can care for
