So someone stole my Type-S emblem.....
This morning, as I was walking by my car I realized that the Type-S emblem was gone!!!!! . I was so pissed off. I've had my car for a month and now this happens. I'm almost positive someone stole it as these emblems don't fall off that easily. All that's left is the ugly sticky stuff and some scratches to the paint. I hate this F****ng ghetto. I'm ready to get out of here.
Does anyone know if these emblems are under warranty? Can I ask the dealer for a free replacement and say that it fell of by itself?
If not, does anyone know who has one or where I can buy one from for a good price. Please help me!!!!!!!!

It's about $30 at the dealer.
And, no it's not a warranty item. Lying to "steal" one from the dealer makes you the same as your "ghetto" neighbors. You're a better person than that.

BWT. Does anyone know what I should use to remove the glue and the foam that was left? Is there a special formula that doesn't damage the paint on the car? Let me know

jrobert,
Some guys like to debadge their TL's-even Type S models. Maybe someone got you started on debadging. I would want my Type S badge back though-just like you do.

When i debadged my old car i used a ton of windex and a credit card to scrape the glue off, then did a wax job afterwards. Had it for 2 years after that and definitely couldn't tell there was ever anything there....

AVB for President!
This reminds me of like 10-15 years ago when people used to steal the stupid Honda "H"... I even saw some people use them as keychains or had them glued onto their school binders. Plain old retarded.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I've seen cars broken into in my neighborhood as well, and I'm not in a ghetto. PM stands for Private Message. You can PM that guy above offering the Type-S badge by clicking on his name or going here:

AutoZone emblems
The funny thing is that one of my friends has a Mazda 3 and he bought 2 type S emblems at AutoZone and glued them on each side of the car, but no, I know my friend wouldn't steal emblems off cars. He's an honest guy.
So, where can I get the goo gone stuff from????

Just realized someone scraped off my Type S emblem too! Googled and came across this post. I didn't know stealing Type S emblems was the trend. Oh well, im just glad they didnt scratch the car itself. Theres minor scratch looks like they used a key.

smek, at least it was just the badge. it could've been way worse. there are members here who even lost their TL-S waffles. but either way, i'm sorry to hear that your emblem got stolen. try the dealership and see if your SA can help you out somehow. best of luck!

I use an eraser wheel for stuff like emblem adhesive, pinstripes, etc. its just what it sounds like. a bigass eraser that goes in the end of a cordless and as it spins it gums up and rolls the adhesive off. you can damage paint with it too leaving it in one spot too long, but I have yet to ruin paint with this method either. a little wax after your done and you cant tell at all there was an emblem there. can usually be picked up at any paint supply store.

The only problem with the goo gone is it wont take everything off.
Trust me you should heat the glue up with a hairdryer and rub it with a terry towel.
The only problem is this WILL marr your paint, lucky for me I know how to buff

Thread title and some of the posts brought up bad memories. I've had my trunk spoiler stolen, my Type-S badge stolen, and even the "Acura" lettering on my trunk stolen in 3 separate occasions
Needless to say, I've moved to a nicer area.
