driving normally on 74 when i ran into an older si...the lil hatchback one. i think like an 01 or 02 something like that. well he saw me pull beside him and just for fun i downshifted to 3rd at around 45mph and waited till he hit the gas. as soon as i heard him gun it i punched it and almost immediatly started pulling on him getting at least a car and half until i cut it off at 90mph. he had an exhaust system and when he punched it his car so damm loud!!! i heard his vtec kick in over my engine and some quite music i remember back in the day with my 2000 tl i had trouble sometimes with the lil rice rockets cuz they would always be so damm hard to beat..not anymore!

Nice kill, but next time make sure you're in second at 45 mph. If it had been the newer SI, you would've have had your hands full if you'd left it in third.

Your thread is pointless. You are telling me you just beat an older model 2001 or 2002 Si with your 2005 6MT TL? Are you kidding me?
When I had my supercharged TL, I never post crap here about smoking a neon SRT4 or Z28 and they are closer to my league.
Why does one feel the need to post when they smoked a car that is so much more inferior in terms of speed than the TL...
Your TL has 258hp (stock) vs 160 Si, cut me a break.
If I ever see you on the road with my weekend cam'd vette, I don't think I'd bother post it on the forum after giving you a spank.

And whats the point in noting the TL's advantage in HP? A tank with 300 hp is slower than a gokart with 150 hp. It's all about power-weight ratio.

I don't know what 5th gear has to do with it. I never said the SI was faster.

A low 15 second car in 2nd gear can certainly get the jump on a torque-shy, mid 14 second car in 3rd gear from a 45 mph roll, and it'll take awhile for the mid 14 second car to catch up.

if i'm not mistaken, those things are WAYYYYYYY down on torque. your TL probably has double thte torque easy.
