i would test drive it and check the tranny linkage.. clutch.. before deciding if you should buy the car.. but if i were u.. maybe get 05 instead.. i think they had some minor adjustments..

Needless to say, get it in for a top to bottom inspection. Lease drivers tend to treat their vehicles with less care. I would definitely go on an extended test drive and preferably go alone if possible and don't jam the awesome stereo, save that for a different time. These TL's unfortunately have some rattle/noise issues and it's important to identify these things before taking delivery. You should check the threads about problems and TSB's (technical service bulletins), etc. This would give you a prelude to what to look out for before a test drive. I would also push for certifying the TL if it isn't already. Then again assuming you are purchasing this TL from an Acura Dealer.

ok thanks guys, there asking $33000 canadian with taxes in , i test drive it and its so freakin fast.compare to my 99 tl lol. i would have been raped by this car soo bad..everything seeem pretty smooth and quiet, the only problem was the clutch, its very sensitive, but i didnt hear any noises outside! but acura gave me all the details of the inspections they did on the car,

by the way they wouldnt let me test drive it alone,i dont know why,but im gonna go to the dealership today,im gonna ask him to test drive again to see if i can hear any noises!

I bought my 04 used off a lease with about 55k on the clock. I had considered buying an 07, but I paid cash for the used one and it's nice not having 2 car payments for a while.

Take it on a long test drive and flog the hell out of it and see if any problems show themselves. Look the car over real good and it probably wouldn't hurt to have someone inspect it. If the car seems good and you are happy with the price I'd say go for it. You might buy an extended warranty for your peace of mind.

The clutch might be an issue. Mine was weird before it died at 18k; I babied it, too. The new one they put in feels normal.

yeah it is very nice not worry about payments.maybe i should just save up money and buy it cash up front..or maybe go for the 07 tl,ive look under the car there was alot of rust everywhere, for a 2004 it had way more rust then my 99 tl..i think i should just go for the 07 tl-s its only 15g more.

and dam your clutch died out at 18 k? thats fuc*ked, thats pretty bad for a new car.

That's why if it felt strange, like you said it did, I'd stay away. They only covered it under warranty when I asekd a bunch of technical questions about how it failed that they couldn't answer. Otherwise, it would have been $700 to $3000, depending on how much the dealer 'helps' you.
