Should I buy 06 TL???

So should I buy a 06 TL with the 6spd for 15.5k? The car has 58k miles and is in mint condition. Good deal?

I'm sorry but thats terrible advice. $15,500 for an 06 is a fantastic price. Cheapest one I have seen in very good condition is almost $18K. I think the Navi is waaay overrated but thats my opinion. Dude go for it

... the car was designed around the nav, without it the car doesn't look complete.

i'm not sayin u wont enjoy the car without nav, but once you sit in a car with nav, you will always want the nav ... if i were in OP's shoes i would wait for one with nav, just so i will have all the bells and whistles technologically ...

I have to echo sleeper22's sentiments. I don't have nav and I specifically looked for a TL w/o nav. Don't need it. If I do need directions, I can look it up online before I go. No big deal. And not disrespecting any of you who totally want the nav and can't live without it. It all depends on where you need to go from day to day.

Some require the nav and some don't. I'm one who doesn't require it and I love my '06 TL.

I have an 06 6-speed non-navi and I love it. If you know where you are going you do not need navi at all. It's very hard to find a 6-speed. I would go for it.

black interior? Its probably cheaper cause its a manual. they have low resale. Plus the lack of navi.

Highest demand would probably be for wdp, black interior, navi, auto.

What is your highest priority? manual? navi?

I absolutely love my nav. Wouldnt buy another car without an integrated nav.

+1 to the nav comments. I don't ever need or use my nav, but the LCD and upper display on the dash make the interior look so much nicer. You'll regret it down the road, but if 6MT/WDP is your dream combo and you don't care about the nav, go for it.

So much attention is given to Navigation because of its "VISUAL" affects. Obviously its a personal decision but I HAVE to ask this question. Don't most of KNOW where we are going 99.9999% of the time???

Yup I do. Don't most people prefer having an LCD touchscreen media interface in their car? ...Yes. It's not just about the navi. The radio layout and other controls are simplified with the system in the car.

Thanks for all the replys. The car has the tan interior with the fake wood trim. I would rather have one with the navi cause it does look alot better but the odds of finding a 6mt w/ navi for south of even 19k is pretty much near impossible up in new england.

6 speed is the one thing that isn't easy to find used and in good shape. The navi can be added as I have done a oem swap for around 1000-1500. The 6 speed can never be added so you have the one most important option.

Yes it is cool I totally agree with what you are saying but I would not let Navi stop me from getting the car he is wanting. That is one hell of a price

This is when it is especially useful. When I dont know where I'm going and need a map that tells me exactly where I am, and I can navigate around on it to figure out how to get to where I need to go.

plus the reverse camera
plus the muting of my radio when it spits out directions
plus the large viewing screen that requires minimal attention
plus the easy to use navigational controls
plus not having a device which draws attention from thieves
plus access to my trip computer which tells me real time mpg and average mpg since last fillup.

I use google maps on my cell for traffic and as an up to date yellow page directory to find places.

Just a FYI I already have a garmin w/traffic updates. So, I wouldn't be gaining much besides show.

That is a great price. Get it. MT is really fun to drive, I have seen 05's go for more than that with about the same mileage.

Don't buy a 06 TL, get a 07 E63 AMG. It's way faster.

Its a good price if you can live without having the NAV screen in the center console and deal with the plain screen it has. Go look at a NAV and non-NAV and make the call. You can just get a portable. I would go with a NAV model but if it saves me a few grand. I think I can live with a portable.

Good Lord, you make it sound like he is getting his arm amputated and has to learn to live with it. It's not that big of a deal.

Look up NADA and KBB values, TL prices at auction dropped huge the past 2 months so if you wait a little longer you might be able to get a better deal. I would just rather pay a little less for an 04 which is the EXACT same in every way as an 06 and have a little extra cash for mods/rims.etc. Acura nav is no fun unless it's touch screen, but definately not necessary.

Label, transmissions are different, 04s are more durable.

You can get a the full OEM navigation installed for $1600. So if you ever need it, $1600 is a worthwhile investment.

I didn't get nav on mine when I bought it. I sometimes wish I had it. However, I rarely finding myself in situations where I needed it. It's nice to have but not a deal killer.

Shit man! This is a good deal! I got my 04 Auto for 14k and it had 79k miles. Totally worth sacrificing the Navi. IMHO.

this thread is amusing, i especially like the comment about the interior looking "hideous" without navi. i dont have navi and i in know way mind. does it look better with?..of course, does it look hideous without?..far from it. i found the car i wanted in the color i wanted and had to deal with the lack of navi, i got over very quickly. i got myself a tomtom that does the job better and it only cost me a few hundred bucks. that is a GREAT deal and i would go for it. good luck!!

Buy it.

Does it have the brembo spec'd brakes ?
Nothing looks siccer than a fat set of brakes behind some nice rims.

Plus, Good brakes are probably the best mod(next to really good tires) that you can get for a car.

Everyone wants to go fast and look good doing it, but stopping fast is just as important, if not more important.

If it's a 6-speed, it will have Brembo's up front.

Non-navi dash doesn't look bad in my opinion. I got over it really quickly. Because I love what's underneath it...the manual shifter.
