Should Clutch Pedal be "Creaking"

after driving over 4000 miles on my TL I noticed that the clutch pedal creaks when I press on it or release it. Is this normal? This is my first manual car so I do not know. Sounds like it needs oil or something

Thanks

It is not normal for a car of this class to creak anywhere, at any time, for any reason. I suggest you contact your service manager and let him fix the problem.

It justs needs lubricated, in my opinion. My 2001 Saab Vert needed this a couple times as it squeaked when pressed. Just take it in and they'll resolve your issue in no time flat.

Of course, it could be a million other things but that's what I feel it could be. A tech would get to the bottom of it though.

Coop - I've never had a clutch replaced in any of my cars, so I'm not even going to venture a guess on that. Mr. Obvious would probably tell you something simple as, if it has trouble engaging and disengaging it could be bad...but beyond that, sorry, no help here.

Tripp-Thanks, no I knew it was a long shot but I figured I would ask. I am usually anal about sounds in my car and such, etc. I do not believe it is anything, I may have just not noticed it before, it is barely hearable right now but to me I hear it.

If it's still engaging and disengaging and has the same feel when you picked it up, perhaps it just needs lubricated. My $.02....which really doesn't help I'm sure.

Are you talking about the actual pedal creaking or do you "feel" it creaking? If it's just the pedal, then you just need to get under there and lube it a little, if it's not the pedal, I'd bring it in for service right away.

Try WD40 on the joint, that worked for my old car

Mine was doing that so the dealer had to lube it and adjust a plastic piece that was rubbing against it. Feels as good as new now.
