Service car at a Honda dealership...

Hypothetical question here:

If you were traveling and you had car problems and there were no Acura dealerships nearby, could you bring your car to a Honda dealership for service? The navigation system displays Honda and Acura dealers so I thought you probably could, but I wanted to see if I could get a definitive answer.

Thanks.

Honda dealers will usually not do warranty work on an Acura. There is no way for them to get paid, and Honda discourages it. The only thing they will do is oil changes, as far as I know, because you are paying for this yourself.

It is possible if it was something that prevented you from driving the car, they could get permission from their factory service rep.

What you would probably have to do is to pay for the repairs, and then take the bill to your Acura dealer so they could reimburse you.
